Guys, here is a lyric of me. I have written it 6 months ago. It is, as most of my lyrics, very personal and I would be very happy if you would write a lil' comment or to give me a feedback, what are you thinking about, what is the message you can read it out of it etc... Would be nice!

Here is it:

TRAVEL TO THE GATES

I'm still standing here and you by my side
I'm looking with eyes wide open all and everything around
I waited for so long and recognised to waste my time
and when you don't walk so I have to walk away

I still remember how it all begun all this misery
recognised but disintegrated, ignored and disregarded
all your eyes followed the new way to east-go-on
faked the smiles for me to try to improve the disapprovement

if you would give me just a little more than you ever had
before destiny turns and you won't have anything
do your change before dusk, before the sun is getting down
when the light is off you'll lose in the darkness your sense of direction

now I'm sitting here on a storyteller's place
it burns in the fireplace as I slowly opened the book
the flames reflects in my eyes, covers my tears
the tears of pain evaporate by the fire's heat

oh no, this can't be real what I feel this night
on the way to darkness a sudden turn back home
not disappearing behind the gates which are wide open
and after cross the line, the doors will close forever

we're gonna have a good time I see that clearly
but my absences torn me back to this sad reality
nothing happened, still walking towards the mighty gates
closer to the line than ever before

I'm just a convicted victim of a senseless fight
executioner and his rope are waiting for me
I'm just an innocent victim of an endless fight
blinded so long but now I'm blinded no more

always wished me to the gates you stand before now
ever ignored the silent whispers surround you
you always choose your own decisions I don't care
behind the gate waits a small torch without a flame

I still remember how it all begun all this misery
all your eyes still follow the way to the east-end
now I'm faking a smile for you to improve your disapprovement
if you ever had given me just a little more…
you can't kill my dreams
you can't kill my spirit
I was born to be FREE!

Well, I find it very sad, reading these seemed like having very bad times... They are very nice lyrics...Although I can't quite feel like the song says (since it's personal :) )... And lastly, you use words that are not so common(for example disintegrated), which is...nice! :)

I read an interesting quote the other day:

"If a bear is chasing you and your friend in the woods, you don't have to be faster than the bear....just faster than your friend."

In itself this is a pretty cool quote, but after I mentioned it to a few people I noticed that you can learn a LOT about the way someone thinks by the way they interpret the meaning of that sentence. Very cool sneaky hack for getting to the root of someone's mental state. :D
Let no man surrender so long as he is unwounded and can fight.

This is how I'm feeling now.

Royal Hunt - Sea of Time

In the ocean of dreams
things are changing but staying the same
Nothing is like it seems
So unreal that it drives me insane
in the heat of seven suns
Surrender to the power of time
End of the line – ready or not but you’ll always remember

Everyday in your life you’re lonely
Every tear in your eye is only
little step on the way to face your fear – I’m thinking about you
Every bridge that you’ll burn behind you
Every page that you’ll turn’ll remind you
everyday is another lonely tear falling in the sea of time

Gentle voice from above
makes you carry your cross through the day
Speaking wisdom and love
to confuse you – then fading away
into the light of 7th sun he’ll run
Don’t be afraid, never surrender
Ages will pass but we’ll always remember

Everyday in your life you’re lonely
Every tear in your eye is only
little step on the way to face your fear – I’m thinking about you
Every bridge that you’ll burn behind you
Every page that you’ll turn’ll remind you
everyday is another lonely tear falling in the sea of time
If irony were made of strawberries, we'd all be drinking a lot of smoothies right now.

You know this song???

The land of ice and snow
Where the midnight sun blows
Hundred thousand lakes glow
In the land of ice and snow

Nothern lights guide our way
Come whatever may
Forest god protects our day
In the land of ice and snow

Where Koskenkorva flows
Where the freezing wind blows
Summer nights are white and warm
In the land of ice and snow

Some night say that we are cold
Don’t believe all that’s been told
Our hearts are made of gold
In the land of ice and snow

We didn’t bow under oppression
We fought and we died
Redeemed in blood
The land of ice and snow

Here I was born and here I’ve lived
And one day here I will die
Under nothern starry sky
In the land of ice and snow...

...I love that song!
The sky have so cute clouds:)...Wind sings in mine ears:)....Rain drops so nicely:)......There i nice and cool weather.....Birds are singing..... - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I'M GOING TO FREEK OUT TO FINNISH WEATHER!!!

how could i ever go back…
back to the life where i lived amongst the dead
who have forgotten how to feel
and become slaves to memory and wishful thinking
but your love has set me free
as you awaken every star
that has been sleeping in the constellation of my soul
how could i go back to live amongst the dead
those who imprisoned beauty
i never want to leave your arms
so i wait in hope for your embrace
illusions of what i thought was love
now i have clear sight to see
that i have left nothing behind

looking out on a familiar scene
there's no agreement in what we see
your perception lacks clarify
and my perspective is blinding me

side by side
divided they stand

parallel lives running parallel with YOU
to the point where our horizons divide
my opinion is just a point of view
and your position is the other side

caught up in our convictions we forget
how our senses distort things we see
we can't accept our differences
but we can always disagree

side by side
divided they stand

parallel lives running parallel with YOU
to the point where our horizons divide
my opinion is just a point of view
and your position is the other side

where I stand is not so far from YOU
a different opinion is just another point of view

parallel lives running parallel with YOU
to the point where our horizons divide
my opinion is just a point of view
and your position is the other side

parallel lives running parallel with YOU
to the point where our horizons divide
my opinion is just a point of view
and your position is the other side

I understand you. For me at the moment, As I Lay Dying's music and lyrics mirror my feelings...

Reflection

these streams of uncertainty
they are all collapsing upon my mind
torrents fill my veins until I burst
with mistaken guilt and shame

all of my sorrow has been spilled
into my reflection

here comes A.D.D.(American Dream Denial) by System Of A Down. I'm against global domination of the U.S., at least as long they use their power only arbitrary or in their very own interest, without caring about the rest of the world.

System Of A Down - A.D.D. (American Dream Denial) Lyrics

We fought your wars with all our hearts,
You sent us back in body parts,
You took our wills with the truth you stole,
We offer prayers for your long lost soul.

The remainder is,
An unjustifiable, egotistical, power struggle,
At the expense of the American Dream,
Of the American dream, of the American, of the American.

We don't give a damn about your world,
With all your global profits and all your jeweled pearls,
We don't give a damn about your world,
Right now, right now.
We don't give a fuck about your world,
With all your global profits, and all your jeweld pearls,
We don't give a fuck about your world,
Right now, right now.

There is no flag that is large enough,
To hide the shame of a man in cuffs,
You switched the signs then you closed our blinds,
You changed the channel then you changed our minds.

No flag large enoguh,
Shame on a man un cuffs,
You closed our blinds.

The remainder is,
An unjustifiable, egotistical, power struggle,
At the expense of the American Dream,
Of the American dream, of the American, of the American.

We don't give a damn about your world...

mi buen amor
mi herida de amor
mi verdad
mi credo, razon de vivir
mi lluvia de abril.

Gracias a ti, mi triste vivir,
pudo cambiar en un jardin...

Its meaning in english is:

my love
my wound of love
my truth
my believe, reason to live
my rain of april

Thanks for you, that my depressing life

today, on the birthday of a beloved person that has passed away recently, I tumbled over this song, and it so much matches my mood. A mixture of sadness and defiance. I absolutely love it, just like it's from my heart.

Killswitch Engage - This Fire Burns

All I've ever wanted was destiny to be fulfilled
It is in my hands, I must not fail, I must not fail

Even through the darkest days
This fire burns always
This fire burns always

This is the proving ground
Misery begins to rise
Turn away from yesterday
Tomorrow's in my eyes (Oh!)

Nevermore to be held down
By the weight beneath me
Nevermore to be cast aside
This day is mine

Even through the darkest days
This fire burns always
This fire burns always

I will not be denied in this final hour
I will not be denied, this day is mine
This passion inside me is burning (Is burning)
This passion inside me is burning (Is burning)

Even through the darkest days
This fire burns always (always)
This fire burns (fire burns) always
Always (always)

I found the lyrics of the Icelandic lullaby from Luca Turilli's "King of the Nordic Twilight". I love this song, but I couldn't find any translation sites (I tried one but didn't work). I'll post the lyrics here in case any of you are able to translate them.

Icelandic lullaby

Sofðu unga ástin mín
úti regnið grætur.
Mamma geymir gullin þín
gamlan legg og völuskrín.
Við skulum ekki vaka um dimmar nætur.

Það er margt sem myrkrið veit
minn er hugur þrotinn.
oft ég svartan sandinn leit
svið og grænan engireit.
Í jöklinum hljóða dauðar djúpar sprungur.

Sofðu lengi sofðu rótt
seint mun best að vakna.
Mæðum kenna mun þér fljótt
meðan hallar degi skjótt.
Mennirnir elska, missa, gráta og sakna.
If irony were made of strawberries, we'd all be drinking a lot of smoothies right now.

I dedicate this one to a special lady who's helped me through a difficult time in my life lately.

Limbonic Art - Beneath The Burial Surface

The sky is darkening, soon the night befall
Righteously angels are weeping for my soul
All childhood dreams are soon to be lost,
All innocence to be shattered

I am the fallen, from grace

Water from a thousand tears floats in streams,
The feeling of a thousand years flows over me
As I once again return to the cemetery gates,
I hear the dismal call from the hollow grave

My face is a river, See my eyes as they drown in black
My sacred doom and nemesis, Beneath the burial surface
To the final act of immortal sin, I am lead by funeral winds.

The life I leave to exchange with death,
As the charlatan breeds with a dragon's breath
Crossing the path to the world below
In a deathlike silence I chamber my soul

Ancient black, silent gloom
Cathedral bells are calling doom
In velvet dreams I am touched by sin

As night arrives in its purple shades,
I drift across the shallow graves
The soul is streaming in the wind
Dark is the blessing that I am in.

As darkness falls and the cold silence reigns,
The nocturnal void shall become my faith
I will transcend unto where shadows dance

A gentle kiss and like a bird I'll fly,
Into the spheres of demise,
Desireously in dark romance...
"Beneath the freezing sky arrives Winter's Verge..."

I always have lots of things I think about inside my mind but never say out loud, and in this place I have no one but myself, so whatever's in my mind stays there. And sometimes I worry about time that never stops running. So, what better song to express these feelings (solitude, the passing of time, mental images of a better place) than Vision Divine's:

"Colours of My World"

Years were going like sand exposed to morning wind
Slowly hopes left place to dreams
Past and future all at once everything has gone
Take your time to say goodbye

To my life... In a single chance I try
To my fears... 'Cause I've seen' em day by day

Somewhere in my dreams I can see
Lying the colours of my world
Where my spirit sometimes falls
And I wonder if there's a way to paint these walls
With the colours of my world living deep inside my soul?

All that world around me suffocated my will
In that grey I slowly chilled
There with nothing winding me sometimes I felt so old
Like a man who lived for too long

A hundred Years... I surrender to my fears
A thousand Years... Wish I could forget my tears

Somewhere in my dreams I can see
Lying the colours of my world
Where my spirit sometimes falls
And I wonder if there's a way to paint these walls
With the colours of my world living deep inside my soul?

Now I'm here sitting in a corner of an empty room
With pearled eyes
In my mind the silence, immobility of a frozen gloom
In a stolen smile
Through the veils
Of human unconsciousness
Reside the nameless words we are not allowed to know
Would I break this veil?
That's where my mind has gone
A trip with no return
Through the meaning of what we call... Life

...What we call... Life...
...What we call... Life...
...What we call... Life...

Somewhere in my dreams I can see
Lying the colours of my world
Where my spirit sometimes falls
And I wonder if there's a way to paint these walls
With the colours of my world living deep inside my soul?
If irony were made of strawberries, we'd all be drinking a lot of smoothies right now.

I really get used to and like this one now. It helps if you are frustrated with all those evil things happening around you in this world.

MAROON - And If I Lose, Welcome Annihilation

In times
When worlds collide
My nails are in
Society's flesh

And if I lose, welcome annihilation

In times
When worlds collide
I will be
The thorn in your side

I know it will be
Will be the hard way
As I stand
In the heart of the monster

If I lose, welcome annihilation

In times when worlds collide
I will be the thorn in your side
I can never fit and I never will
This is all I have - you will never see

In times
When worlds collide
Hope is rare
Under a dying sun

I can never fit
And I never will
See me dance
At the funeral of your ideals

If I lose, welcome annihilation

And if I lose, welcome annihilation
And if I lose, welcome annihilation

The Clash - The Call Up

Hooray!
What?
One, two, three, four
One, two, three, four
One, two, three, four
One, two, three, four

It's up to you not to heed the call up
And you must not act the way you were brought up
Who knows the reasons why you have grown up?
Who knows the plans or why they were drawn up?

It's up to you not to heed the call up
I don't wanna die
It's up to you not to hear the call up
I don't wanna kill

For he who will die
Is he who will kill

Maybe I wanna see the wheatfields
Over Kiev and down to the sea

Oh, it's up to you not to heed the call up
I don't wanna die
It's up to you not to hear the call up
I don't wanna kill

All the young people down the ages
They gladly marched off to die
Proud city fathers used to watch them
Tears in their eyes

It's up to you not to heed the call up
I don't wanna die
It's up to you not to hear the call up
I don't wanna kill

For he who will die
Is he who will kill

There is a rose that I want to live for
Although, God knows, I may not have met her
There is a dance and I should be with her
There is a town - unlike any other

It's up to you not to hear the call up
You must not act the way you were brought up
Who give you work and why should you do it?
At fifty five minutes past eleven

Oh, there is a rose...

One, two, three, four, I am a marine
One, two, three, four, I am a marine
One, two, three, four, I am a marine

Yeah

It's up to you not to heed the call up
It's up to you not to hear the call up
I don't wanna die
I don't wanna die

There is a rose that I want to live for
It's up to you not to heed the call up

* * *

Whatever you think of the message of this song, you have to admit that there are some true and poignant lines (the ones that I highlighted). War is always a tragedy.

I find this it's some stranger...

I have a little question
About Everything
It is hard
and sometimes dark
A lot of people treat to answer
but crazy they end
nobody can...simply nobody
say me the answer
My agony is making a hole
in the centre of my heart
please...is only one word
please...I cannot control this
please...I can do it alone
I give me forces to smile for not die...
say me the why!

@ vanustrato: rhetorical = retórica

A rhetorical question is a question that does not really need an answer because the answer is implied in the tone of the question (among other things that are too complicated to write here). :)

sorry guys that it is in German:

I recently got it from a friend and don't know why / with which intentions he was writing that poem for me...
Has anyone any idea?

eben!
sei offen, schatz!
trau dich
lebe
liebe
schweife
singe
schwelge
lache
blitze
zwinkere
greif an und zu
wirf dich hin
und wälze dich
so seh ich dich

sorry, had to edit my post and add "trau dich" to the poem. Noticed I had missed that line.
Having been friends for years, I assume that he would like me. I was just a bit confused why he called me "schatz"...?
