I HEARD THAT TIMO TOLKKI WROTE ON HIS FORUM THAT MAYBE THERES NOT GONNA BE A DVD IN 2006 OR EVEN 2007 BECAUSE THE SHOW IN SAO PAULO ISNT 100% AND THERES LOTS OF OTHER MATERIALS TO MIX...IS THIS TRUE?

What's up man! They said a new DVD will be released in September, they said a lot of things and now nothing will be happen?????

Yes, TT said that the show isn't 100% good quality wise to be released in its entirety... So it might take 2 or even 3 years before they make a dvd...

Argh, enough of this. Tolkki said they were not happy with the results, and decided to wait for something better.

This means Stratovarius are not happy with anything less than outstanding quality with regards to their releases. The same cannot be said for many other bands.

Hey guys, I think we should look for the news before asking the same thing here for at least a 100 times.

Here's Timo's statement... it can be find at his forum on the topic "Stratovarius News"

"What about the DVD? We are waiting for it so long."

Unfortunately the Sao Paulo show is not qualitywise good enough to be released in its entirety. We have lots of material from previous years as well, so I think in 2-3 years we will release sort of "the Story of Stratovarius" that will include lots of stuff:interviews with the old members, loads of live songs in 5.1. At the moment it is not the right time to start working with this.

Yeah, apparently it's taking an entirely different shape...I got the impression they might take another stab at a docu-type of thing again as opposed to a whole show... But who knows?? As Tolkki said in his forum, the Sao Paolo show isn't going to be used... Or maybe a few songs will be, but for whatever reason he was dissatisfied with it.
As he said, also they may try to get some older members for interviews.

Hmm, for sure that will take again a long time before we get any DVD...

But interviews with old members sounds still great! Specially if they try to interview them now (and see what they think about Strato nowadays) instead of searching old interviews from their early days.
