I see.Mormegil wrote:Some, but we aren't exactly saying nice things to each other.
That could be avoided by giving more space to Jens and Lauri in songwriting.RazielSR wrote:I just wanna say that if they don't stay metal and make a rockish band similar to Kotipelto's band, they must be called "Lords of the wasteland" or "We sleep well, my baby".

Should they call it Statovarius - don't think so.
With Out. No Tolkki. With new guitarist.StratoTimo wrote:I don't read the whole topic but is this meaning about Stratovarius with or with out Tolkki?
I might buy this......add "Dream with Me" and I'd definitely purchase it! :music:Raven wrote:What do you think, could this be considered as Strato album, if album with this tracklist would be published:
1. Ride Like The Wind (Johansson)
2. Why Are We Here (Johansson)
3. Glory Of The World (Johansson)
4. Uncertainty (Kotipelto)
5. What Can I Say (Kotipelto)
6. Curtains Are Falling (Johansson)
7. Serenity (Kotipelto)
8. Run Away (Johansson)
9. Angels Will Cry (Kotipelto)
10. Last Defender (Kotipelto)
Bonus track
11. Take Me Away (Kotipelto)
Yes, I know, these all songs are already published ,but that "tracklist" also proves for me that TK-LP-JM-JJ really can do a great Strato record without Tolkki.
You're probably right. TK has said that his own songs are more like some 80's heavy metal than power metal.IceBreaker wrote:It´s tricky to compare TK own band´s songs as Strato. If he will compose sth for Strato, most probably those songs would be at least a bit different as his own band´s material...
This is a very good point. In Finland he is very respected bass player. I believe that you people who live outside Finland don't even know how respected he is in Finnish music business. He has played every kind of stuff from pop and jazz til rock and metal.Rebel wrote: Not to mention, Lauri hasn't contributed to an album yet, who knows what he can do in terms of music writing?
That's true.Raven wrote: This is a very good point. In Finland he is very respected bass player. I believe that you people who live outside Finland don't even know how respected he is in Finnish music business.
This song is written by Lauri:IceBreaker wrote:He has written some songs for Warmen. That´s correct.

Yeah, Lauri is really a force to be reckoned with overall.cliff wrote:That's true.Raven wrote: This is a very good point. In Finland he is very respected bass player. I believe that you people who live outside Finland don't even know how respected he is in Finnish music business.
His first solo album was rated 5/5 in the biggest Rock magazine in Finland, Soundi (and they rarely give 5/5 to an album!). Really respected bass player, but more particularly a respected musician. His first solo album is absolutely brilliant.
He plays in quite a famous jazz band called Emma Salokoski Ensemble.
He was also a member of the band Jonna's Problem, along with Tuomas Wainölä. Quite good old school rock, but the songs are all pretty much the same, totally boring live.
He was also a member of Sinergy (he replaced Marco Hietala who left to be in Nightwish) but now Sinergy is having a "we don't know how long" break.
Well TT did state that this isn't like Deep Purple without Blackmore, since in Stratovarius basicly one person wrote all the material.browneyedgirl wrote:+5prisiana wrote:I can't see why they shouldn't go on under the name of stratovarius !!! they've still got more than half the band !! did Iron Maiden change their name after Bruce left ???Did Kiss whe Ace and Peter LEFT??? AMEN!
Add Megadeth&Metallica to that list, too.
The list is, well, almost Infinite.
I totally agree with you BEGbrowneyedgirl wrote:![]()

ALL 5 Guys are/were Stratovarius. They worked together as a team.
Tolkki sings good, but KOTIPELTOput the band on the map. If Kotipelto, Jorg&Jenshad not been hired, I am pretty damn certain Stratovarius would have stagnated in the mid-90s.
I don't know the legal side of this situation, but maybe they HAVE to keep the name Stratovarius until all obligations are fulfilled.
