Accents give character and can be used for some great emotional reactions. So many things go into how a vocalist’s sounds that it’s incredible to hear the different ways sounds and words can be put together. Kotipelto sings a whole lot of different style with stratovarius and my favorite songs are where he is given the vocal runs of chorus melody and when the end of a song gets transposed up with the key changes. He definitely is at his best when he gets to just focus on holding and doing runs with vowels.
Yes, I have also seen those videos at the university, which by the way were fucking boring. :?
Yes, it depends very much on the speaker. For instance TK has an accent, Jens another and Jorg a different one. By the way, have you ever listened to Jari speaking? Because I never did
Here in Spain we also have very different accents. For instance my mother tongue is Valencian but I also speak Spanish which is the official language in Spain so when I speak Spanish I have the valencian accent too...
American and British accents are very different too.I prefer the first one, it's easier for me to understand.
As a Spanish girl is very easy for me to identify the Argentinian accent, Mexican or Venezuelan...The same happens with them when listen to a Spanish speaking
The funniest thing in identifying accents is that it lets you know where somebody comes from, and that is a very cool and entertaining thing.

The different sounds that can come from our mouths are amazing and I love that each and every one of has our own voice and can make sounds that no other human can make. I’m not so good at explaining accents but it’s all in the way someone forms their mouth and enunciates the words. There are so many ways that words can be pronounced and kotipelto puts his own style into his singing rather than trying to emulate someone else. i also like that he will sing songs in differnt ways, every performance of paradise has a different ending. I need to look for a book that teaches how to emulate different accents.

Agreed. As a person trying to learn to speak a number of different languages, I love the accents, especially those from European countries.
AMBR how many languages do you speak? I'd like to know it if you don't mind telling me.

I loved the videos, part of that is because of all the cultural reverences and connections that I can make from other life experiences and familiarities. I could not stop laughing at so many parts. With Jens being Swedish, jorg German, and kotipelto finish they all have different accents. I’m not sure if jari ever talks but he would have a similar accent to the timo's being they are all finish unless he has been able to learn how to pronounce differently. There’s so many accents that people can with in relationship to area of their language and strength of accent. I one had a chemistry teacher that came from Fiji, and then lived in England, then came over to Seattle and had a strong accent so it was almost impossible for any of us to understand, In U2 bono does not sing with an Irish accent but they have Larry to sing the traditional Irish songs when they do those in concert.

Seriously, on the Infinite Visions video in a couple of the clips Jari said a couple, or a few words. Seems I did detect an accent there. But, yes, mostly he just stood around and smiled&laughed. With the beautiful blonde hair he doesn't have to talk. :D >joke<

:D Matter of fact, on IV Jari was tipsy when he said a few words. When he&TK were standing in the hallway of the hotel. And, there was that Cake-in-the-face birthday scene. He uttered a few syllables then, also! :D And, in France when Jari&TK were just rummaging around, looking at dog shit! I think Jari said a few words there.

I found a funny video:
http://video.google.es/videoplay?docid= ... GQBQ&hl=es

For those who don't speak Spanish I am going to translate what the girl basically says.
It was in Murcia (Spain)TK and Lauri went to a hairdresser because Lauri wanted to wash his hair before the show.

The guy who uploaded the video says that the price was a bit expensive and he decided to wash his hair in the backstage.

Jens was in the backstage area at the Tuska Festival in Helsinki last week.
I had a quick chat with him, he mentioned something about supposed to be in Helsinki for demoing new material, with the new guitarist. Though he said things were progressing very slowly and he wouldn't tell me the name of the new guitarist.

Progressing slowly? Oh my god! We'll see if next year we have a new album...
I don't understand why they don't want to tell who the new guitarist is. Why all this secrecy?

he had to go to the army, buthe tried to avoid this moment. At the end he had to go, for a year I think. And the others fired him (it is said they did it because he drank too much as well, but who really knows...)

Welcome to Finland. Here we believe forcing every male to play in a forest for 180-362 (270 for me) days lowering their IQ, meanwhile every other country puts them to work or to school seems like a better idea than joining NATO.
Why? Because, there is always the chance that Russian Federation all of a sudden decides to invade our country and that we could in the 21st century fight them on our own.

I would be willing to bet that right now Jens&Co. are working on a future album which will blow our socks off, and be something that will top the Metal Charts. :headbang:

since they are refreshed and ready to go and are all great performers they will put together some music that some think is fantastic and others will complain a storm about like happens to all music apparently. I’m definitely looking forward to what they all release.
