I have hacked together a quick blogging function here. It's basically made as a "special" forum post, which also shows up in the blog (like this one).
Hopefully this will make it easy for us all in the band (including myself!) to make blog entries, so there can be some quick updates here and there. It's possible to upload pictures quickly, and to embed youtube video if needed etc.
The band blog entries will be found here: http://www.stratovarius.com/blog
More official news items are handled in much the same way now, via a forum post. Thus there are in a way two levels of official communication. "Official news" for bigger news, and other more significant things (but hopefully not too many statements). "Blogs" for more informal updates. I feel that this could be useful!
