After all the rumors of the hijinx the other party has tried to pull, OBAMA is the only choice. Even lots of Repubs are going to vote for OBAMA.
It has been forecast that OBAMA will win in an almost landslide, McCain might even lose his own state!
So, maybe us working-class will get our country back. Hopefully those big-shits will take that 700trillion $$$$$ and go straight to Hell with it. Maybe they can "take it with them".: That money could have done alot for this country&I do not mean welfare or food stamps, either, although many job programs for the poorest Americans could have been created with no problem with just a 1/10 of that money. The intrastructure in many areas is falling apart--road, bridges, railroads, etc. And, do you realize how many kids could have went to college on even 1% of that amount! The list is endless!
People are really pissed off in the USA--many are on the breaking point. And this bailout was the straw that broke the camels back. Many people are just daring some wealthy, or "privileged" person to pop off their smartass mouth so they can have a reason to beat the shit out of some of these bluebloods.
So, knowing OBAMA is way ahead of McCain in the polls, just let those sonsofbitches try to pull something crooked, let's see 'em try.
It just might be a riot&a bloodbath if they try!

I like the response greenspan made to why his actions in the Federal Reserve helped cause the problem. He did not figure in to his equation that companies don't always work rationally or for the best interest of their customers. It’s not a very good endorsement for big business or big government.

Given how many millions are embezelled a year and the amount of frauds and "corner-cutting" in the books in big companies, one would assume that big buisness takes care of itsel.

It's so bitter to imagine in how much better state this world - and of course the US - could be nowadays, if Al Gore hadn't been cheated in the elections 2000.

Al Gore would have been a good president. No Iraq. No high unemployment. Everything would have been better. We now have a second chance with Obama. He is far ahead of McCain in the polls. They would not dare fuck it up by cheating him because it would be so obvious.stratohawk wrote:Obiously this time it won't help them.... 4 Days left...stratoplayer wrote:

Actually, he would have been blamed for everything! Sep. 11 2001 was at the time when Bush was president, of course, and everyone looked up to him to get revenge. Now that he was pressured to do that, he is blamed for everything in between. I believe if Al Gore would have won the 2000 election, then he would definitely have to go to war and face all problems that Mr. Bush has right now such as oppositions, bad character, selfishness, etc.browneyedgirl wrote:Al Gore would have been a good president. The Republicans are blamed mainly because there were no democrats dominating the three branches when the war in Iraq was suppose to end after Hussein was captured. In fact, a lot of democrats voted to go to war earlier when they were present in the government. After Bush did not want to end it, people started to elect Democrats and now they dominate the Legislative branch, and possibly, the Executive branch.

Re: US president 2008: Candidates, discussion, and the rest...
Now we can’t prove any of the last 8 years would have happened if gore was president. Anything said is speculation about alternative history. A lot more variables than who the president is affect the state of the nation. Both Obama and McCain seem to think they can save the world and fix Washington, let’s just see what everyone talks about 4 years from now. One huge issue in this election is the fact that three liberal Supreme Court judges are going to retire and McCain would stack the courts and the and the court would be very quick to act on some cases that would have a huge impact.

The shock of the all time: Brian Moore (the actual Socialist candidate) wins.

Not only fun, but fair. Maybe it's just the media here, but do they appear in any major tv-debates? In Finland even the smallest parties (couple of communist parties, far right parties, a senior party...) with less than 1% of the votes have their own debate on the state-run channel.icecab21 wrote:The shock of the all time: Brian Moore (the actual Socialist candidate) wins.

Today is the day.
I'll be watching tonight. Some have predicted Obama will have it in the bag by 9pmCST. I guess we'll see. I certainly hope so! This is the most important election in decades!

Good luck with the elections! We also care who is going to win. It's not only important in the USA.

This map was charted in June:

updated link:

keep in mind that many of those RED states that McCain will grab have only a few electoral votes.

In America we have a few government channels that have some interesting programs on and show a lot of the talks and key votes in the congress and senate. The problem seems to be that no one wants to watch. I think the biggest problem is how information gets spread and the accuracy of what does get spread. There is a lot of information about the candidates online from independent fact checkers that shows the campaigns are making horrible misstatements about each other and rolling their spin. When the real socialist candidate calls Obama a capitalist and criticizes Obama for his capitalistic stances, it’s pretty safe to say that for McCain or the right wing to call Obama a socialist/communist is just plain stupid. It seems third party candidates would bring more truth into the political discussion. With the crazy people the news programs find to give commentary, no amount of correction would sink in but I think it would help for the majority and the sane.

The big numbers won't come in until later. In some states the polls are going to stay open until 8 or 9pmCST. Obama is going to win by a pretty large margin I predict!

What I can't understand is, in the 2004 elections the Democrats whined about Bush saying that he just did National Guard duty while John Kerry was a vet. And yet, now in 2008 I haven't heard any democrat complain about Obama's lack of service
yeah Obama will probably win..the nations problems will get dumped on him, and everyone'll realize that the only 'change' they're going to get is higher taxes...

Re: US president 2008: Candidates, discussion, and the rest...
One point of view is that consumer and producer confidence are the most important factor in a economy and taxes only play a part of many factors in the equation. McCain keeps talking about the business taxes in Sweden as if all business goes to Sweden to invest.
Fox news has pretty much called the election for obama.
