Timo Kotipelto will be in the Finnish TV series "Kuorosota". This is to be broadcast next year on the Finnish national TV channel 4.
The program has the same concept as the Swedish "Körslaget": a handful of strong personalities each get to lead their own choir, which then performs, and viewers get to phone in their votes for their favorite. In Sweden the program turned out to be a huge hit with viewers and media in general, eclipsing programs such as "Idol".
The Swedish version featured HammerFall's Joacim Cans as the only (token?) metalhead. But as Lordi knows, metalheads can be very tenacious ... and as most people in Sweden know, Joacim actually ended up winning it!

Go Team Kotipelto!!
Wow, what a really cool idea! I've never heard of this. That performance by team Cans was impressive!
What are the rules? I take it they can pick whomever they want to be in their choir, pros or amateurs? Is there a limit to the size of the choir and are they suppose to perform an original song or any song?
I really hope they post this on the 'net after it's over. I'd love to see the whole thing. But of course, Go Team Kotipelto!!

from the youtube videos this stuff is something i really love. i love choirs so to hear rock songs i love being sung by them is really cool. i wish america did something like this
Not that atractive idea for me. Since I stopped to watch TV a few years ago, I have some natural aversion to everything what's on TV. But Timo and his choir have my support of course
Those shows are for entertaiment. When you look at those performances there is no need for a conductor. So its basically about doing some things that the audience is amused. Where was Jens in the swedish show? (think it would be funny)
Team Kotipelto definatly has my support, they're going to kick ass.
I also agree with neverendingabyss it would be really cool if you guys could do an interview for Mtv's headbangers ball here in the states.
But also like him I'll be okay if it's not possible.
OK. But why is it good? I don't understand why good these kind of shows? What want to show Timo? Is him more or less if he in this TV show. Does him add values to this poor word or it is just l'art pour l'art or worse: just show for money?
I like Stratovarius, you give me a lots of sound, thoughts, emotions. You are a great band.
Why is it a good thing? Well, perhaps it can get other people interested in Stratovarius or Kotipelto's solo works. And, of course, it's entertainment for us as well.
Reminds me of last night (Finland's independence day):
Me and my friend (after some 12 beers and a bottle of Koskenkorva): OI MAAMME SUOMI SYNNYINMAA (in ridiculous falsetto), SOI SANA KULTAINEN!!!!
Some equally drunk dude from a distance: So you just had to rape that song!?
Edit: Didn't mean to say that Kotipelto & co. raped that song though.
