Backing tracks for vocals?

Here musicians can talk to each other about making music etc. Of course if you are not a musician you are still welcomed to this board, but the topics should somehow be about making music.

Backing tracks for vocals?

Post by Grantus » Fri May 08, 2009 1:13 pm

Hi, I am a singer (taking two years of vocal lessons at this moment and recently started singing with my new band) and I was trying to find some backing tracks (i.e. whole song just without vocals) for my lessons and practice, you know I train really hard  . I am interested in Stratovarious and similar bands (like Sonata Arctica, Edguy, Avantasia etc.) not only because I simply love them, but also because my singing style is mostly similar to Timo's, Tony's or Tobias' one...

But sadly I wasn't able to find any of these backing tracks on the internet, not even on the paid sites; just found some guitar ones (drums and bass only). Any help or advice, please?

i have not tried out many of the softwares that trys to remove vocals. using midi files is another option, with that you can really practice since you can change the key and everything.

Japan has various karaoke versions of power metal albums. You could try that.

That would be great if you find it:) Still I have to cure my voice now - I was sick and also I have terribly dry air in my room now..and now I can't reach Timo's heights
