Great news! The drummer brother Holzwarth was awesome on Metal Operas! But, Eric Singer impressed me in the fast songs (rather song) on The Scarecrow as well. It seems an old dog can learn new tricks.

Yep, Eric Singer is an amazing drummer. He was just brilliant on KISS Unplugged.

JORN LANDE ON FORTHCOMING AVANTASIA EPIC

Besides KISS-drummer Eric Singer and Sieges Even's Alex Holzwarth (who also played for Avantasia's first two albums "The Metal Opera 1 & 2") the third musician can now be announced: Norwegian vocal animal Jorn Lande has been in the studio to sing his parts for the forthcoming Avantasia epic. Lande had already been on last year's Avantasia-chartbreaker "The Scarecrow".

CORPIONS SINGER KLAUS MEINE ON AVANTASIA

Recently Scorpions vocalist Klaus Meine was in the studio to record a duet with Tobias. The recording session took place at Peppermint Park, Mousse T's prestigious studio in Hannover. About the collaboration Tobias says the following: "We played a couple of shows with the Scorpions here and there and they are not only the biggest and greatest Rock band ever to emerge from Germany, they are also cool Rock-n-Roll people who are aware of what's going on in the world of heavy guitars. Lately we played Bulgaria together, Edguy and the Scorpions, and I watched their full show from onstage. They kicked serious ass! Rudolf (Schenker, Scorpions) did some cool guitar work on the previous record, and now Klaus is on the forthcoming one. He has done a superb job, he opens his mouth and you immediately hear it's that cutting voice that has sung "Rock You Like A Hurricane" and "Blackout"! The track we did together is an anthemic mid-tempo tune, big choir chorus. And I am still speechless thinking of Klaus' performance. He is a real pro and he would still blow away 99% of all us Rock singers with a quarter of his left lung. People, get ready for a monster song!"

those albums have been successful for edguy. sammet definitly has pulling power with edguy being able to sell out concerts, headline festivals, and backup legends. the guests that he is able to pull show the support that people have form his work. some will fail for you, do you really need to bring it up so much that some failed for you? it did not fail to a lot of people.

There are a few good ideas on those albums that could've been good songs If they would've been exicuted right. But as they are now those 2 albums are garbage. Total garbage.

The name "tinnitus sanctus" sounds like a sexual transmitted disease. The album sounds like one too. I haven't actually listened to it, but would enjoy further provoking this argument for the purposes of entertainment.

I think icetray's last comeback was gold, while pinhead is gradually becoming more assertive. Who will be the victor of this epic showdown? Anyone's guess! But this humble commentator presumes that irregardless, they will both still be losers.

Tinnitus is hearing ringing, buzzing, or other sounds without an external cause. Patients may experience tinnitus in one or both testicles/ovaries or in the penis/clitoris.

Sanctus is the Latin word for holy or saint, and is the name of an important hymn of Christian liturgy

. So more Sanctus on the next album and they will be back to what they were doing. Cutting the oxymoron album titles will also help them remerge their holy power metal hymn medieval quest

I prefer the really early stuff, I think their last great album was Mandrake. Hellfire Club is good and Rocket Ride is decent. Tinnitus Sanctus is garbage indeed.

Anyways, since the thread is about Avantasia... Same thing about Avantasia. The metal operas and the Avantasia single are great, everything else is.. eh... not so good.

And yea, I'm guessing this will be another Scarecrown-like release, no matter who's singing. Hell, he could bring Michael Jackson to life and make him sing in the next Avantasia album and still I would be only mildly interested.

Personally I like the album though. Its best moments really are those heavier ones, and I think Golden Dawn and especially The Pharaoh are among the best Edguy songs ever. Anyway, it's not as good as Opera, Theatre or Club. :>

After Klaus Meine (Scorpions), Ripper Owens (ex-Judas Priest), Jorn Lande (Masterplan), Eric Singer (KISS) and Alex Holzwarth (Rhapsody Of Fire, Sieges Even) Magnum vocalist Bob Catley has been in the studio to sing his vocal parts for the forthcoming Avantasia album. Bob Catley had been on the road with Avantasia in 2008 when he was part of the live ensemble that travelled around the globe.

The vocal session took place at the Viper Room Recording Studio in England, under the watchful eye of Vinny Burns.

Or how about a epic battle between Rob Halford, Ralf Scheepers and Tim Owens? I even have a story for the song! An old king (Rob Halford) dies and leaves behind 2 sons and a huge kingdom. Before he dies, he rules that the elder one of his two sons (Ralf Scheepers who is around sinde 1983) shall become the new king. The younger brother (Tim Owens, around since 1990) is full of envy and plots against his elder brother and so a battle between the two brothers ensues.
