Yeah it's a really cool song! It can be on my setlist instead of Destiny. Though I like Destiny a little more.

I think there is a topic for the dreamed setlist somewhere in the forum (http://forum.stratovarius.com/viewtopic.php?t=6214); but surely they need to play some good new stuffs, as well as old great classics. It need to be an equilibrated tour, with new and old songs in the perfect dose :)

Not necessarily a "Best of" setlist, but something I think would be a very solid setlist for fans new and old.

Deep Unknown
Forever Free
Venus in the Morning
Legions
Uncertainty
No Turning Back
Speed of Light
Forever is Today
Infinity
Winter Skies
Phoenix
Season of Faith's Perfection
Fight!!!
Forever
Full Emancipation Suite (What Lauri originally wrote, at like, 15 minutes or whatever)
---
Encore 1: Learning to Fly
Encore 2: Black Diamond

With either expanded Emacipation, or a Matias/Lauri duel, + a break between the the encores for tension, that's about 2 hours total. Would be very solid methinks

There are some songs I'd like to see/hear in Madrid:

Speed of light
Eternity
Twilight Symphony
Lord of the Wasteland
Legions
Visions
Abyss of your eyes
Falling star
Emancipation I & II
King of nothing
Forever is today

The perfect setlist for me would be:

Speed of light
Eternity
Twilight Symphony
Lord of the Wasteland
Against the wind
Will the sun rise
Forever Free
Legions
Visions
Abyss of your eyes
SOS
Destiny
Millenium
Infinity
Phoenix
Deep Unknown
Falling star
Emancipation I & II
King of nothing
Forever is today
Winter Skies

But, I know that's not possible of course so, being "realist":

Speed of light
Eternity
Twilight Symphony
Lord of the Wasteland
Forever Free
Legions
Abyss of your eyes
SOS
Phoenix
Deep Unknown
Falling star
Emancipation I & II
King of nothing
Forever is today
Winter Skies

 Anyway that's very long too, I suppose.
...Faster than light, higher than the sky, stronger than steel...We´re the legions of the Twilight...

I'd love them to play King of Nothing, which is may favourite song in the album.
But there are also many songs of previous albums I still miss, like Distant Skies, Visions, Eternity, Paradise...Will they ever play these songs again?

And they should re-open that tour song poll, so they will see WHAT we actually want mostly.

good example.

name...

1. 3-4 old classic songs, you want to hear in tour (Twilight symphony, distant skyes etc...)

2. 4-5 polaris songs (it's polaris tour)

3. 4-6 hits (father time, will the sun rise, forever, hunting hight and low...)

4 1-2 encore songs (Black diamond, forever...)

Would this be good idea? :)

Oh heck yeah! After seeing basically the same backbone of a set for many times now (no offence - every band has one), Fight!!! would really be an unexpected killer worth a shot!

I'll try to record Forever Is Today WHEN they play it in Tampere next month. :x

Not that I care as long as they play Destiny. Just absolutely nothing else matters! :D

Reading this topic you can easily see a lot of masterpieces in Stratovarius discography, including Polaris songs.

I hope that they continue making even better tracks in the future. I'm really anxious waiting for the next album.

Well, for my taste, I suppose that I'll never find something like Episode album. But... you know, they can always "invent" something new, fresh and improved without losing Stratovarius identity, and who knows if it's gonna be even better?

Nowadays I really don't think so. But who knows tomorrow? It's music.

And when I say better I mean, something making me feel better than when I listen Episode (the top Strato album for me).
All this is personal. When I talk here I always talk about my opinion, mainly because everybody is different while listening to music.

I had a surprise with Polaris. It was/is better than I thought. But I want something more and I suppose that we'll have that "more" in the next albums, cause the new line-up (well Matias) is gonna be feeling more and more comfortable every day.

Anyway, when I read some song titles in this topic and I try to imagine something better for Stratovarius...I say to me..."fuck, it's really difficult."

I think the lack of Tolkki will be always present in Stratovarius, and that's normal. The same if Kotipelto, Jens or Jorg were not in the band.

We have a new Stratovarius making a new future step by step. Everything is going really well it seems, so we must support and wait to see what's next. I think it will be great.

And I hope to hear new wonderful music coming from Tolkki too.

You're still wondering about that? It seems that Tolkki puts it on- and offline whenever he feels like doing so.

I totally agree with you my friend. The feeling you have when listening to "Episode" it's the same one (or at least I think so, if I'm not wrong) when I listen to "Infinite": For me it was the best album ever made by Strato, fresh songs with deep meanings, an armonic and melodic sound... It really helped me a lot when my father went living to USA when I was 9 (and still now, it's hard for me to think of that without letting a tear roll down my cheek; it has been 8 years since my dad went there, and I still haven't seen him again).

I really hope the best for them, and expecting the next album to be even more awesome than "Polaris" (which BTW still kick ass :))

We Hold the Key
Learning to Fly
Stratofortress
Black Diamond
Speed of Light
Blind
Legions
Forever is Today
Glory of the World
A Million Light Years Away
Celestial Dream
The Abyss of Your Eyes
Lord of the Wasteland
Night Time Eclipse
----
Father Time
Deep Unknown
Forever

Kick them in the ass early, so that by the time A Million Light Years Away comes on, they can barely rock out, let them recover during Celestial Dream and Abyss of Your Eyes, then two mid-tempo songs (Lord of the Wasteland and Night Time Eclipse), walk off for the encore, and come back with three solid encore songs.

In my opinion i would not add Emancipation Suites to live set. They are great songs, but i don't think that they would work good in gigs as much as in the album. I have same feelings about King Of Nothing, but you'll never know until you heard it

This kind of setlist would be nice. Something like 15-18 songs :P

1. Speed of Light
2. Forever Is Today
3. We Hold The Key
4. Deep Unknown
5. Higher We Go
6. Million Light Years Away
7. Kiss Of Judas
8. Season Of Change
9. Blind
10. Eternity
11. Winter Skies
12. Visions/Infinity/Destiny (one of those three)
13. Black Diamond
/Encore or something nice/
14. SOS
15. Back To Madness
16. Eagleheart
17. Forever Free
18. Legions

Something that would be nice. It's a lot different than what they usually play. Blind and Back To Madness would be nice surprises for fans. Imo Back To Madness is a good song. At least I like it. There is no many good songs in Black album but back to madness is one of the good ones :P
When The Night Meets The Day would also be nice surprise.
