Well, I dunno about you guys, but the story is official. Jorn himself said that he is back in numerous Rock and Metal Magazines from all around. Everyone knows it. So don't you think it is about time to maybe finally post it on the official website? I don't think there will be any buisness or legal problems now that Jorn has said it and I guess that it would do no harm to post it now.

Re: Masterplan
I've been reading about these Masterplan issues here, mainly from your posts. (I don't mean that in a bad way, I really do like the band also, I'm a long time fan really!)Ragehead91 wrote:Well, I dunno about you guys, but the story is official. Now, reading this post above, something finally just clicked into place about all this and I get this eerie suspicion or deja vu feeling.
I google "jørn lande solo album", get wikipedia, get link for his last album:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spirit_Black_(album)
Notice which label it is on.
Frontiers.
I am willing to bet Frontiers put the same stupid retarded clown-ass shit-eating puke-bastard paragraph in their contract with Jørn that they did with Tolkki when he signed for the first RR project album. "You're not allowed to release the news about anything else bla bla bla until the marketing cycle for our stuff is done bla bla bla".
I would be willing to bet that this "forced silence" is not Jørn's fault or Masterplan's fault. So maybe don't blame them, it could be that they are between a rock and a hard place because of Frontier's idiotic contract. I was too, last year. And it sucked giant donkey balls and elephant cock (a quarter of a million euro worth of donkey balls and elephant cock, for us)
Just my two cent's worth of guesses...

But how long is such a promotion circle? Just days before Spirit Black was released Jorn was still touring to promote the "Lonely are the Brave" album from last year.
Re: Masterplan
Don't be surprised if it's not until a few weeks before the album is to be released.

Fuck it! Why early 2010 all the sudden?REAKING NEWS! JORN IS BACK!
After months of rumours and speculations it is now official:
JORN LANDE will once again join forces with his old bandmates, and work on what is expected to be yet another MASTERPLAN Masterpiece.
The new album is already in the works and JORN is right now in Roland Grapow Studios in Slovakia recording his vocals.
The release date is not yet decided, but the album is scheduled to hit the market sometime in early 2010.

Aww. Well, it's still better to wait a good work to come out than get worse quicker.
Have you guys heard about the Beyond Twilight - Section X spectacle a few years back involving Jørn and the rest of the band? It's kinda amusing. I've heard that Jørn's such a colorful person almost nobody gets along with him for long periods of time, but these kind of things tell of even greater egoism if they're true. Anyhow, a great singer, I wouldn't stop supporting him, no matter how asshole he might be. The Masterplan s/t must be one of the decade's best metal albums, and even one of the best overall, and he wasn't bad for example in Avantasia and Ayreon last year, either...

I also heard about that. Jorn said that the stuff on the 2nd BT album was written by him.

I just bought Masterplan's debut album and I think it sounds great!
Somehow I've just missed this band completely, but I'm glad I found it

I hope not because then it would leak and then we wouldn't have that much fun spending our money for it.Ragehead91 wrote:I hope the album is already finished.
Yeah, same here, although it's more into the past. I just one day had an idea of Google searching what Roland Grapow and Uli Kusch have done after Helloween and... Well, the rest is history. Just taking a look on the original line-up afterward made me cream my pants...Fuuso wrote:Somehow I've just missed this band completely, but I'm glad I found it

Besides, if it totally fails, we don't have to buy it after all if we don't want to. Of course it's mainly a good thing that there are leaks, but heck, after all it isn't for the musicians, financially. It's a dilemma. I heard there was a pretty official "pay a monthly price and download everything you want; all the money will go to artists depending on how much they're downloaded" at one point, but it didn't succeed because RIAA or whatever are so old-fashioned they can't let the business go forward.
But you know, especially with Masterplan, I'm just so sick of waiting. Read ther other pages of this and you get what I mean.

But really, that pissed me off! The last thing I cared about at that time was his godamn guitar! He could play a Banjo live for all i care.
Let's hope the album will be recorded faster than Duke Nukem forever was produced.

It's possible that they're just reviewing it, reviewing the mixes, and letting it sink in to see if they want to release it or change itRagehead91 wrote:^<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/CVJLC5rrLF4&hl ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/CVJLC5rrLF4&hl ... 2=0x4e9e00" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Simple. The company has scheduled it released late.
It still hasn't leaked it? Awesome though. Some people will have to buy it, or wait until the actual release day anyway. ^^

It’s not like record label will just release it as soon as possible without strategy. I would not want a record company that just threw a cd out at least. Bands can throw their cds out on their own, but I think its a advantage to have promotion backing up the music.

Why? There was a shitload of buzz around the band when they announced Jorn was back. This would've been the perfect time. Why should they wait another few months when the buzz is comepletely gone?Intiaani wrote:Simple. The company has scheduled it released late.

I wish it would leak. I can't wait anymore! This is, after Rage, my absolute favourite band with my absolute favourite singer in it and they released 3 of my absolute favourite albums. And this new album was originally planed to be released in early 2009. Now we're talking abour early 2010. And now Mike says that the album was recorded 4 or 5 months ago and is probably just standing around and waiting to be released. It's like sitting on a hot chair and every day they don't announce or release anything it gets hotter. I'd throw a big party the day the album leaks.

Re: Masterplan
Just imagine how cool it is to you hear the album when it FINALLY comes out.
It's like Icecab said, the record company has its schedules. You're very blue-eyed if you blame a band about some odd decisions. It's a rough business.
Speaking of Mike Terrana, aren't there any more drummers available in Germany? Why not some new guy for a change? Every band seems to hire him nowadays. First Masterplan, then Savage Circus, and I don't even want to guess how many projects he has apart from these two and Rage...

Re: Masterplan
A shitload. I think he was in the solo band of one of the Angra Guitarplayers, he is in Axel Rudi Pell, Tarja Turunen's Band, will release another solo Album and has released a shitload of other albums with a shitload of other bands. He was in Savage Circus, Axel Rudi Pell, Rage, Empire, Roland Grapow solo, Squealer , Victor Smolski solo, Metalium, Yngwie J. Malmsteen, Kiko Loureiro, John West, Tony MacAlpine, Gamma Ray (only live), Hanover Fist, session for Not Fragile, Emir Hot, Zillion (German Version), Artension, Iron Mask, Razorback, Tarja, Zillion (American Version), Downhell (an obscure band from South Korea), Beau Nasty and I don't think the list is complete.
I still can't wait anymore and I hope for it to leak. The album was probably finished 4 or 4 months ago if we can belive in Mike Terana (and I doubt that he would lie about something like this. Maybe if you ask him about his depature from Metalium or Rage, that is a different thing...) and now it is just sitting around. Then at least give us some samples or a update. Just something. Or they could release an EP to make the wating time shorter like always did (Enlighten me for the first album, Back for My Life for Aeronautics and Lost and Gone for MKII). Just give us something. Why can't Masterplan be more like Stratovarius when it comes to keep the fans informed about what is going on?

Stratovarius, sans frontier records bullshit, has been one of the absolute best bands in keeping their fans informed, they're an oddity for sure.Ragehead91 wrote:A shitload. And Masterplan are probably the worst when it comes to keep the fans informed. Again, it took them half a year to finally inform us that Mike DiMeo was fierd although we could already read about that in the forum.

We have been wating for this since you first announced it in the fall of 2008. Ever since then you've kept us waiting and now this is again getting delayed because you're producing another band? Shouldn't Masterplan be the priority? Just finisht he goddamn thing already.
I think getting in rage again because of this isn't worth it. Just let me say this:Unfortunatly it will take a while since I produce other bands.
(I) will finish Masterplan soon. In 3 to 5 months it will be out
