I have their "Torn" CD and I think it's great!! Jari Kainulainen has done some of his best playing in years on it, I think. Feel free to agree or disagree here.
Re: Are there any Evergrey fans here?
I'm a huge Evergrey fan, but prefer some of the earlier stuff like Recreation Day. Still, Torn is an excellent album. I've seen them a bunch live, but still can't wait for the next opportunity.

Re: Are there any Evergrey fans here?
I have to say Torn still hasn't worked miracles with me. I'm thinking of selling it away actually. I don't even think it's a good album. :/ I liked the trailer of it once it got out, but on the actual album only the songs Broken Wings and In Confidence are great.
But then there is The Inner Circle that is one of the most touching, sad and plain agonizing albums I've ever heard. And one of the best as well, if not the very best. One of those rare things where the goodness of separate songs matter nearly not at all. I'm out of words describing the album, it is too great for me for words really.
At least Tom S. Englund was right leaving his booklet comments:
- - This is not a[n] album you put on before heading to a bar or if you want to feel good... believe me you won't. When the last song ends you are left with a really unpleasant feeling inside; a feeling of being helpless and not enough of a person to do something - -.
Marketing speech, maybe, but at least I agree 100%. I might be a sensitive fool though.
I also have the album Recreation Day which I haven't really listened to that closely I could say something about that. It felt a pretty good album at first, though, whereas I didn't consider The Inner Circle being even good at first! I'm looking forward listening to it more, with thought, and let it wrap me around it like TIC did. I just hope it works.
So far I can only say I least liked the songs Visions and Blinded, but the first four songs - especially Recreation Day - and the ballads on the latter half all felt great songs. I'd already heard some of the songs as acoustic bonuses on TIC though.
Besides those three, I don't have any Evergrey albums. I will bring that injustice to light one day and buy more. What do you suggest being my next Evergrey album anyway, keeping these things in mind: (1) TIC is godly, (2) so far RD is good and (3) I don't seem to like Torn?

Big Evergrey fan here. I've always loved Jari's style, so it was a really cool thing when he joined them! I've got their live DVD which is truly a masterpiece, one of the best live DVDs out there I think.
When The Walls Go Down never fails to send a chill down my spine. That and Nosferatu are my favourite songs of theirs, but that changes daily.

Evergrey are just awesome. I stumbled upon this when when I was looking what the former Stratovarius members were doing nowadays. I just LOVE Englunds voice and my favourite album would propably be "A Touch of Blessing". A lot of people seem to think that this is a bad album but I can't understand why.

Torn was good album, but mostly I like The inner circle and Recretation day. They are great!

I love his voice too. Sadly, I don't think he worked on Ayreon's 01011001, but he always gives his everything and can interpret the way I think no-one can. A friend told me When the Walls Go Down live was even more crushing than on the album...Ragehead91 wrote:Evergrey are just awesome. The godly album that's name is The Inner Circle, by the way. The first track is A Touch of Blessing.

Damn. I mixed those 2 up. Sorry. Still don't get why so many think it is a bad album.

I don't really know Evergrey. Could anyone post some links to their better songs?

I still have to add their most crushing song When the Walls Go Down. Good quality. Sorry for the video though - although I think it's kind of good with it.
