Yes. Maybe Andi doesn't have the vocal range that Kiske had, but makes up for that with his Charisma and ability to play with the crowd instead of Kiske who was, from what I've seen from him, more of a stage-poser.

You're both very right. In that sense, he's better than Kiske. Oh and he once had a huge vocal range. Or I don't know about range, but he went very high. Nah, he does sing pretty low too.

Back then his singing was so easy, but somewhere in the 21st century he has become more rebust and he's had difficulties with his former flowing singing. And according to the Legacy Tour DVD, he smokes.

Still, he's good enough. And far better of a frontman than Kiske ever was, even though I prefer Kiske's vocals. The man is one of my very best favorites after all.

Not even close, Axl Rose is a crazy motherfucker. There was some magazine top 50 about the craziest musicians ever, and he beat out the collective musicians of Mayhem for the #1 spot.

I read Slash's book, and if even 50% of what he says in there is true, Axl Rose is the most arrogant, self-absorbed, unstable, egotistic up-his-own-ass spoilt brat to ever front a rock band. The parts where Slash described how he was embarrassing the rest of the band in front of Metallica were just cringe worthy.

His new album was pretty bad, too.

I believe it was Weikath that said Deris changed his singing style somewhere in the Legacy tour, and after that change, he was very good on every song once again. He's good on the DVD alright. Although some songs just don't suit him, like A Tale and Keeper. Too much for his capability. Although that Tale must've been one of his all time best, I have to admit. It really was great!

I also think you have to be more or less insane if you wanna be a good musician. Like Frank Zappa was. Although he was that only in positive sense IMO. Dunno who's the most unstable of all time though - Tsaikovsky? Tolkki? D:

I agree sooo much! Although I'd kill for hearing more Dark Ride Songs! They play WAY too much Keeper Songs nowadays. In the Keeper: Legacy World Tour it kind of made sense but when they play 2-3 Songs from the Album they're promoting and 8 Keeper songs like they did on the Gambling Tour, that is just WAY to much. They've played the songs to death and they should do a tour with only Deris-Era Songs and maybe Eagle and Dr. Stein.

Agreed! And if the Dark Ride songs still aren't possible, then why not some kewl stuff from many other albums. How about something like The Bells of the Seven Hells, Sole Survivor, Perfect Gentleman (I'm shocked I haven't seen it live anywhere for a while; Deris is so good in the role ^^), Liar, Kings Will Be Kings, Born on Judgment Day and Midnight Sun sometime? All great songs they just tend not to play live.

From the ballad side, I'd love Forever and One (Neverland). I think it might be the best Helloween ballad, or at least the best from the Deris era maybe. Hard to say though - they're pretty much all damn good.

I also say Power out of the set. It's pretty popular with the crowd, but I think they overdo it. And I'm not that much of a fan. We Burn is a killer, on the other hand.

And yeah, Deris is good at interpreting Dr. Stein and Eagle Fly Free. I Want Out is a must of course, but I wouldn't cry if they dropped them. I haven't heard a working live version of it. The guitars always sound a lot worse than on the record and it's just not for Deris. Or Kai. You'd need a Kiske - or heck, Matos - or 20 years younger Scheepers to deliver it.

Anyway, I don't completely agree with the Keeper songs. I actually like band's way of putting out the song Halloween, whereas I don't like the badly timed (Andi! ) and played (Sascha! ) Keeper. Also, for my ultimate surprise, the highlight of the night two years ago when I saw the band together with Gamma Ray was...

March of Time! The crowd somehow got a strange extra boost from it and was louder than ever on that gig! It also worked miracles - I think, from what little I could hear from the awesome crowd - Deris also nailed it splendidly. So there's something. I never get tired of that 10-minute long band introducing and crowd feeding Future World either. The interlude just sticks to your head and stays there.

Anyway, more songs from, say, Master, Oath and Gambling, and let's drop a couple of those older ones that are either not really working or that I don't like that much...

Play 2 Keeper Songs, let's say Dr. Stein and Eagle Fly Free or Future World. And the rest Deris Songs. Just do it one tour to see reaction. And if the Kiske Fanfucks and the fans who can't stop living in the past and still moan about the loss of Kiske burn down the hall you can still change it later. I you'd also have to pay for the hall, but that is a different Story.

Dunno, it isn't even as good as the DVD version on most YouTube clips. I think I so much worship the original that the radical changes the band makes nowadays kinda ruin it. The goose bump factor and feeling is gone for me... I think it's good still, but it isn't what it's supposed to be and why it's my, like, favorite song ever.

I think the set list from the Rabbit Don't Come Easy tour was the perfect balance of old stuff and Deris era songs. And as much as I loved and enjoyed the concert last year, I wish they had played more songs from Gambling With The Devil - that album is just fantastic and we got to hear just one song - come on! And yes, I would definitely love to hear more songs from Master of the Rings thru The Dark Ride albums on the next tour.

Well, I picked Metal Invaders because it pretty much has the fewest of that ridiculous falset shit in it, off all WoJ songs. And it would be good with those rare parts sang normally as well. I think they should train one or two old songs anyway, since it's the anniversary after all. I don't care though, I only hope they're going to release the Anniversary album already and that it would be good!

I can't understand your opinion. Deris sang (and composed) a lot of great songs from MotR till now. Helloween can give gigs with set from those albums (especially MotR, TotO, Better and Dark Ride). From ballads to power and more dark material. And Deris all sings great (he has a very expressive voice), but singing Eagle Fly Free or I want out is a mistake (even this Tale that...). He has not a vocal range as Kiske and singing it much lower that original is nonsens. I haven't heard a good Eagle Fly Free in Deris interpretation (maybe you give a link).

And I doupt in Andi good form since I saw Mrs God unplugged on Youtube.

I can't understand your opinion. Apart from I Want Out I LOVE Andi's versions of Kiske's songs. Especially Eagle Fly Free. Yeah, of course he isn't like Kiske, so what? If they wanted a Kiske-Clone they could've picked one of the thousands out there. They wanted someone unique and they got that someone with Andi. Granted, he doesn't have the range of a Kiske, but range isn't everything. He was a very good choice as a replacement.

Ragehead: Andi was a great replacement for Kiske, they'vr done after weak Chameleon my favorite Helloween albums (wth Grapow and Kusch). A can't imagine Kiske singing ie Power. They both are great but very different so I prefer Andi singing his material (which is really great) to Eagle which I heard a lot of times and never in pitch.

That's all, I really think that Weiki made a good decision to hire Andi instead of Kiske.

You're right. Although I like to think that since it's 25th anniversary, they will have a set list that covers ALL eras, but we'll see.

Deris can sing most of Kiske's songs nowadays, but there are songs he can't sing (I Want Out for example). And Andi will probably never sing Kai's songs, but Kiske couldn't either. It's too high for Deris and Kiske's voice doesn't fit.

Turning them into one (two?) of the best Helloween songs in my opinion. Those are so fucking great! I actually laugh nowadays every time I hear the original first Hansen vocals to Starlight, following the intro. "AAAAAA... aaah... aargh... pffff... hnngh" and so forth. While Kiske is, like, God.
