No.

So today is Luca's birthday and they released new song for free!
http://www.rhapsodyoffire.com/
Go check out "Sea Of Fate", pretty much typical Rhapsody song, but the solos are Ggggreeat!

And also albumcover looks pretty dark heh.

I really like the later albums. But the first were really cool to. And I have to edit my last post. The new song sounds like most like it would fit on Power of The Dragonflame. Heavy but also really melodic!

I don't like the new song. It sounds like they are trying WAY too hard to capture the energy of their earlier albums. Much of the instruments are an incoherent mess (not including the solos), and while Fabio sounds perfect as usual, he still sounds bored.
Lets hope the rest of the album doesn't sound this tired.

I liked it. Nowadays I'm not a huge fan anymore (their last two albums were just ok for me), I hope this will turn things around.
Another album to look forward to in 2010. We'll have new releases from Angra, Iron Maiden, Mägo de Oz, Masterplan, and now Rhapsody Of Fire. And Avantasia too, though it'll probably blow except for a couple songs. I thought 2010 would be a weaker year since we had so many great releases, but this year is promising too. I only hope 2011 will continue this trend, hopefully bands will start releasing albums in 2 year cycles again as opposed to the now prevalent 3-year period...

The intro specifically sounds like they were just sitting at the studio and making up stuff on the spot. Not to mention it is the most generic power metal intro of all-time.
Rage of the Winter and Flames of Revenge, which use a very similar intro (albeit slower) sound more coherent and professional...And that's their first album.

What are some power metal songs that you would say don’t have generic intros, or any other aspect of generic material for that matter?

Well the new stuff is that you can listen to a sample of Reign of Terror. I like it except for the screaming parts. But I want to hear the full song before I can judge it. They did use a choir again though and that sounds really good.

I agree! But the new song (Sea of new hope) is decent. I guess there will be better tracks =)

Indeed. Especially the version with Christopher Lee kicks ass. But then again, everything that has Christopher Lee kicks ass.

Have you checked out Christoper Lee's Charlemagne: By the Sword and the Cross? It is a Symphonic Rock/Metal Album that could be a musical. A bit unusual at first but great stuff.
