News Update from Timo Tolkki
Post

South American Crusade
Just arrived to Caruaru, which is 130 km from Recife where I played twice with Strato. 1997 and 2000.
Its been amazing 3 weeks around meeting lots of fans, doing seminars that people really seem to enjoy. 3 weeks left and when I finally get back home I think I have been travelling close to 100 000km in total.
This time I have gone to the whole Brazil, places I have never been and it has been truly amazing and eye opening experience. Done a lot of press: tv, radio and magazines, actually more than I ever did with Strato. Things are looking really good.
We played a "fun gig"at Sao Paulo with Bruno and Gus, who is with me during the Brazilian seminars with 2 guest musicians. It was a lot of fun played my old and new songs. They seem to work very well in a live situation. Nobody was asking for Black Diamond, but I wrote over 200 songs in Strato, so we will play in the future for sure a nice collection of fresh Strato songs that people are not bored to hear. There is a lot to pick from. I think playing the same set list for seven years is a bit boring;)
We are getting ready with Gus, Bruno and Magnus to start working on the new RR album, but first we might play some gigs in Jan/Feb. More of that later.
My masterclass is being booked for Europe for March/April and for USA/Canada for June/July. It is really taking off very well. I might film it and make a DVD.
So all in all, I am having lots of fun here and its good to see that people havent forgotten about me at all:) In fact, the response have been...overwhelming.
Thank you all for the amazing support and see you around.
Cheers, Timo

Yup. Most interesting for me is what seems to become a heck of a variable setlist! That's how it's supposed to be - you never know what the band's going to play!

I can only hope that maybe with his newfound energy in RR, maybe he'll start to separate himself from "Angry-Tolkki" and apologize to the fans and Jens/TK/JM/Lauri, because I don't think as he is now, he would be saying/doing those things.

....I have explained this a lot of times, but here you are:
WINNER OF COMPETITION AND NEW MP3!!
The Lottery was done 3.3.2009 from over 2000 people and the winner is Enric
Juan Rovira from Barcelona, known in the Forum as "Luther_Harkon". We have contacted him about the guitar and will ship it to him shortly.
Congratulations to Eric and thank you all for participating!!!
As the Worldwide Release of "Age of Aquarius" is getting closer, we would
like to give you another gift, a new song called "Ghost of Fallen
Grace". It is once again DRM free high quality MP3 that you can use
anyway you please. You
can listen and / or download it at this location. We hope you like it and we
also want to thank you for your great support, your kind emails, and your encouragement. It means
a lot to us.

The last thing Luther Harkon said in RR forum is that Tolkki told him that the guitar was having some kind of "repair" and that he didn't have the guitar. Then, in a few days the forum dissapeared and ... We don't know if he finally received the guitar or not.

This is great news, hopefully as has been said before it will allow Tolkki to seperate himself from strato and we won't have to keep hearing the strato bashing.

The real questions is if Tolkki really wants to seperate himself from Stratovarius. Now he says he wants to but there was also a time when he said he was okay with Stratovariuis continuing without him in the first place and a few weeks later he did a complete 180° turn.

It's something like...: TT: " I will never talk about Stratovarius anymore..."
next morning....
TT: "Stratovarius!! Stratovarius!! Stratovarius!! Stratovarius!! Stratovarius!! Stratovarius!! Stratovarius!! Stratovarius!! Stratovarius!! Stratovarius!! Stratovarius!! Stratovarius!! Stratovarius!! Stratovarius!! Stratovarius!! Stratovarius!! Stratovarius!! Stratovarius!! Stratovarius!! Stratovarius!! Stratovarius!! Stratovarius!! Stratovarius!! Stratovarius!! Stratovarius!! Stratovarius!! Stratovarius!! Stratovarius!! Stratovarius!! Stratovarius!! Stratovarius!! Stratovarius!! Stratovarius!! "
Anyway, it's in some way, understandable.
