just above the previous one.

And he did take responsibility over his bad image. :)
I think he is getting over it and starting to be the same TT I used to know.

A good video, mainly because of the first part and the last. At least he is playing again and he seems, he really seems with new and fresh energy. That's good.

Still a lot of talk about Stratovarius but what the hell, it's the way he sees things and of course the band was a big part of his life so I understand, I mean what can I say.

I'll point out again how he very often switches to passive voice and uses other grammatical tricks to avoid mentioning the agent (or "subject", in a grammatical sense) when talking about his stunt. So it's not "I had the idea", it's "the idea came", "the idea was". Not "I wrote a script".. he says "there was a script". "It was planned" rather than "I planned". It's the same as when Justin and Mike were fired from RR, again that very useful passive voice, "it was decided that they should be fired". He can't quite bring himself to lie completely and say "Kotipelto wrote a script" or even "we wrote a script", which in a way is nice. But maybe he will start doing that after reading this post, what do I know. Well, whatever gets you through the night!

It's also not true that the rest of us are denying it. We just don't bring it up in every interview. It was like a million years ago anyway.

I really didn't think the breakdown was because of the fans' hate at the time. He had some personal (family) stuff going on, and he told me at the time that what finally triggered it was going in to Soundtracks (the studio where the drums were to be tracked) and checking the drum sound, which in his mind was really bad. In his (then) words, he said he had this striking and horrifying revelation that the production was not going to make the record into something akin to a "Metallica Black Album". I understood it also as the final crash after a few months of mania, which I learned later is a really typical thing in bipolar illness. At the time he didn't even have that diagnosis, we and he just thought he was a little weird, like all musicians are somethimes.

So in my mind he basically lost it that spring in 2004 because of that trifecta of production stress, brain chemistry and family stress.

I'm really glad he didn't kill himself.

Somebody should write a book about this stuff! Oh wait..

It will be nice when the interview buzz about it is gone, although since Dave still gets asked about metallica at every interview and numerous other examples of beating dead horses in media , i'm not sure interviewers have the capacity to let things go.

So. Was TT looking to make a Black Album like sound? or just that kind of Quality?

Black album is very dark and heavy, was what TT wanted to make? Or just something that was "Really good"?

I'm sure it's a rare find to come up with an interviewer that does not bring it up... Also Tolkki was quite -not so keen- to start explaining the whole publicity stunt etc. again, but "there is time" said the guy interviewing him. Timo should have walked away? Or arrogantly throw 'not to touch Strato related stuff' there?

Yes, basically I see it like that. And it will happen again. I don't want it again, I want RR to be a good and healthy band, but I can't see it in my mind right now...

I'm always happy to see TT playing and enjoying, but when I see the "strato part" of the interviews...I say..."noooooo...here we go again.... :? StratovariusShitBeyondInfinity!!"

So well, his new "Ibanez" rules.
