Well, both songs are actually very well played, although the snare drum sound is very bad in Black Diamond. And the solo keyboard sound is off. And the solos aren't as good as Jens's (for real? :D). The drums aren't always good. I also dislike the vocals. It's awful when he tries to imitate those Kotipelto squeals... or alternatively he has an awful singing voice. :P

Distant Skies is all round much better. It sounds almost exactly like the original! I also have trouble liking the singer. He can sing, but I don't like his voice either. :P So, +2 already for that.

yah the drums suck cuz EZ Drummer was used for the song =(. I have no idea why my lead sound is off. I made another recording of it and it turned out exactly how its supposed to sound. Here it is for anyone interested.

For some reason when my solos are mixed in black diamond though it sounds very different. But that up there is how it really sounds. much better wouldn't you agree? (also pretty close to jens' lead sound I would say)

As for the vocals I for sure want to try someone else for SOS.

Yeah, much better! :) I hope that the mixing ghosts scatter from your program and you actually manage to get that sound to the song. :P

I'm not. Only that, did you listen to the cover? There was something wrong with the keyboard sound, that's all there was to it for me. Not that it has to sound like something, in this case Jens, just that they tried to capture that particular sound but the recording got it all wrong...

Becuase thats not how I wanted it to come out. To me it sounds much better in the mix if it came out like it was supposed to. (also its a much more appealing sound, to me at least) Also I am a musician :@ a keyboardist! im always looking at my sounds and if need be tweeking them to my liking.

not the sound you wanted, ok, that’s a different thing from saying its wrong because it does not sound a certain way, I just got a little confused to what you guys were saying. I thought you guys were saying that to not emulate the Jens keys would have been some horrible thing. I think for the cover its best to make your own leads and then you can assess if that lead is the way you want it to sound.

yah I have 3 lead sounds I use in my band but my favorite(and most used) one is the one that sounds like jens' lead. For soloing there is no better sound to use other then that(for me at least, its the only lead I use for soloing). Of course what I have is not jens' lead but my variation of it(hope you dont mind it sounds so close jens) which I was able to get pretty close to the real thing with.

Of course its not needed to play a solo with but I have it and its what I always use for solos so thats what I used. It just was really annoying when it got mixed it came out the way it did =(

Jens is there anything special you have to do with your solos when mixing them?

not good =( I need a vocalist, a bassist, and a guitarist. The guitarist of my band said he could help me out by doing the Solo but I need another guitarist for everything else.

I might be able to start work on the bass parts if you send me the drum track to play to.

Might be able to start work on some guitar parts too, we'll see.
I'm not particularly good at either, but based on what I'm looking at in Guitar Pro, nothing is too intimidating in this song. I can at least do the "Rhythm" parts

Oh and my opinion about the band hasn't changed. Very great covers, their own songs are mediocre. >: D

Yeah, Plisken should ask here for reinforcements, to do a continental-wide international S.O.S. cover or smth, or at least inform people about how's it going. I for one was under impression we hear it soon enough, but apparently it isn't so. :(

So you bought the No Escape Album? I bought the 7-in-one Pack from the AFM shop and my version also just has the logical song. Why? I don't know. Actually No Espace was supposed to have Eye Of The Tiger and Shout. I guess they changed it with the re-releases.

Well, the electronics on my bass and my guitar both just took a shit. I'm going with some friends to a casino for a few days, but when I get back on Monday, I'll take a look at them both

ok cool. let me try and find a guitarist and vocalist (and if possible a drummer) first before you go to learn the song.

I might be able to do the basic guitar parts too if you can get someone to do the solo, but that's more of an "If it comes to that" thing.
