Greetings Roland
I think getting in rage again because of this isn't worth it. Just let me say this:
We have been wating for this since you first announced it in the fall of 2008. Ever since then you've kept us waiting and now this is again getting delayed because you're producing another band? Shouldn't Masterplan be the priority? Just finisht he goddamn thing already.
It's his job. I'm afraid he needs to get money for living as well. :I

Also, you're getting much mail from Roland? ;o
I know, I know. But I think he would also make a lot of money from the Masterplan album. They're not a small name after all. But I guess he has it all planed. I mean, if they would be in the same situation as Wintersun are, they wouldn't have agreed to play the festival dates. I'm just disappointed. Because I cheched again and in Agust of 2007 they said that Recordings would start in January 2008. Soon we'll have January 2010. 2 years. But this isn't my main problem.

My main problem is that they don't give us any information. They only post a message that in some way contains "We're working on it. It'll be finished soon!" every few months. Why can't he be more like Jens when it comes to interacting with the fans and stuff like this?

The very Jens you're talking about thinks it's because of their Frontiers deal. They've put other musicians in the silence mode before, seemingly for no clever reason at all.

They're with AFM. Jorn is with Frontiers, but Masterplan is still with AFM. I see how Frontiers maybe can put Jorn to silence as he still is with Frontiers, but how can they put Roland and Co. to silence?

Oh, okay. I didn't bother to check their label, and I thought they were all on Frontiers. Can't explain then. ;) Seems they don't care about informing their fans for some reason. It might be they are all working on other jobs, and Masterplan is more like a hobby, not the firm you have to advertise all the time...

Good though. Music isn't supposed to be (again, "supposed to be"... like, how the heck should I or anyone know?) conveyor belt work. Musician should do music when it feels good, and kind of music what (s)he wants. :)

Of course, well, those pros in big bands that are enough to make living with that just can do head exploding material wheneer they want, well... feel free!

MASTERPLAN have just reunited with original singer Jorn Lande and also finished the recordings for their new album "Time To Be King", that will be released on April 16th. For March you can expect the release of a single to preceed the album.

Well, I don't have anything to noteworthy to say, but since you're asking for reactions... I'm very excited about Masterplan, I've loved everything they've done so far (in special their first two albums), the return of Jorn to the lineup is certainly fantastic news, and I hope this is gonna be a kickass album. I just wish it would come out earlier, this has been taking too long already.

I hope they'll release some samples soon. I'm really looking forward to this, I wonder how it'll sound like after all those years without Jorn. It most definitely is on my list of albums I really look forward to this year.

I don't really know Masterplan, but I love Roland, so I think I'll like Masterplan. Maybe I'll buy this album.

Looking forward buying the album without listening to anything on it beforehand even if I had the chance. Only a few bands are that good I can do such, and Masterplan is one of them. :P

Yesterday there was a listening season for the new album "Time To Be King" in the Ballroom Hamburg. It was announced that the motherfuckers from AFM delayed the album again to May 21. Fuck AFM. Tracklist looks like this:

2. Fiddle Of Time
3. Lonely Winds of War
4. Blue Europa
5. Far From The End Of The World
6. The Dark Road
7. Under The Moon
8. Blow Your Winds
9. The Black One
10. The Sun Is In Your Hands
11. Kisses From You (Bonus)
12. Never Walk Alone (Japan Bonus)

I actually just realized that this is the first time there will be only Roland's songs, isn't it? At least Masterplan was Uli's song, Roland just bought the rights from him after they split... :(

Now, is anyone else but Roland composing? Not that I know of. He better succeed very well. Though Jorn alone adds helluva lot to the album. :) Still looking forward to it being better than Mk II and that let-down Aeronautics (anyone can say what they will, but that album really isn't good). 8)

They should really inform the songwriters somewhere. :?

Well, according to this (Webmaster from masterplan):
A few weeks ago I got the information about the listening-session.
Well, I was very happy to get such news and so curious that I wasn't sure
about writing about my plans.
I was simply superstitous that I couldn't make it
to Hamburg. The winter has stopped all kinds of activities since christmas.
So I was pleased to see just some kind of spring outside before I went on
my way to Hamburg.
Listening-session was planned to take place in the new Ballroom.
Ballroom just moved from Fischmarkt to Reeperbahn and I was also
curious of the new location. And I must say: great venue you should check out
when visiting Hamburg!

I entered the Ballroom, went downstairs and just listened to the last minute of the album-so
Roland told me after saying „hello“.
But they were to nice to put the CD on a second time and I had a short talk with Roland.
I surely wanted to know how he was and also asked about his promo tour.
He told me that he was very busy travelling through Europe (he already was in Sweden and France).
Then he surely was cought by somoene and had to go for some interviews.
I didn't see him the rest of the time afternoon but I heard that reporters from all big
magazines were there-so I'm very happy for him getting such a big attention.

In the back of the room I saw Axel and he was so nice to let me join him listening the
new Masterplan album.
It was so great to see him beeing so happy about the new material!
I had the chance to ask about songwriting for the upcoming album.
Former I read about that he was developing to become some kind of main-songwriter
of the band. He agreed but said that most of the songs have been written after someone
had an idea and songs were done together.
Very interesting by the way is that Axel is writing songs on his guitar while Roland
is using his keyboard.
Jorn also added two songs for the album. Very important for me because my favourite MP song has been written by him (Treasure world).
We also talked about what makes Masterplan so special. I mean, I love the voice of
Jorn very much but his solo things don't blow me away as the Masterplan-songs do.
There's something undescribalbe that makes this wonderful music.
Axel told me that band-meetings don't take place very often but they seem to have some kind
of common spirit that makes the band always start where they stopped last time.
I also saw one of the new promo pics. Very nice, Jorn sitting on a throne and Mike, Jan,
Axel and Jan stading around....

Luckily they turned to volume louder so I could hear and talk, and I really liked what I
heard. I must give in that I had my doubts and was a bit afraid that Masterplan could sound
different after not bringing out an album for a too long time but I must say:
still Masterplan but even better!
I heard fast songs and also slower songs with great melodies and the voice of Jorn.

Later I had also talked to Mike. He is just on solo-tour and had a concert in the evening.
He was standing near his „beauty“ (his drums) and we talked about the new Masterplan and
how difficult it is to get five schedules together for bandswork.
He said that they would need around one week for working on a set before playing live and
touring so nothing is planned so far.
I guess it all depends how successful the new album will be....
I'm looking forward for whats next and I simply can't wait to hear the new album by myself!
Its cruel that I started liking melodies, sounds and voice but now having to wait for more than
two months....but I'm thankfull that I had the chance to listen to it yesterday.
Wish you all were beside me!
Big MasterCheers
They wrote it together. Again, FUCK AFM RECORDS! Why May? Because of fucking Sabaton?

I take everything about AFM back. Apperently Roland will go to Finnvox again to give the album the "last polish". So it isn't AFMs fault.

Looks like it's going to be a really cool album, I can't wait to hear it when it comes out.

I wonder what mike dimeo is up to these days, I'm also glad that Jorn is back however I also really liked Dimeo as well.

Mike DiMeo did Vocals for Illum on their Ageless Decay Album from 2009.

He also just joined ProgPower Band Creation's End together with guitarist and Keyboarder Rudy Albert (ZANDELLE), Keyboarder Marco Sfogli (JAMES LABRIE), drummer Dario Rodriguez and bassist Joey Bones. They're recording their debut "A New Beginning" right now together with Producer John Macaluso (JAMES LABRIE, FOOL'S GAME, ARK, TNT, YNGWIE MALSTEEN) and it will be released this year.
