It's clear. He was bored of metal music and Stratovarius. I said to him that in RR forum a lot and he always answered with not very credible things.

That's all, he was bored But not just him, I think all of you were a bit bored. You know it's normal, bands sometimes need some time to rise again cause when you arrived to Infinity, it's clear that there were some lack of ideas plus TT's problem. But, that's normal. Now it's all clear again and with a very beautiful path to follow.

TT was always the main composer there and the mainman, so it's normal that if he was lack of ideas, it's normal to think that Stratovarius was dissapearing step by step. He seems to be without ideas nowadays too, I'd like to think that is not true because Tolkki as composer/guitarrist is something I will never forget, but it is what I see.

That was the time (after Elements) where he should let the rest compose and share more ideas. But, you know Tolkki never wanted to accept Jens ideas for example, and you can clearly see in Polaris that Jens is what Stratovarius needed, and well that's my opinion.
And now he accepted Gus and Bruno's ideas which I think are ideas and musical concepts that I'm sure Tolkki would never accept some years ago. It's like if you have a jewel in your home, throw it out of the window and you go and buy a 1€ plastic jewel to replace it.

And of course he regrets. I will never forget all about Tolkki in music, cause it was very important to me. But I WANT Stratovarius and the rest are making that possible. So, sorry, but Stratovarius is alive and well and sharing with the fans all of his power. The only think I'm a bit scared is about Tk's live vocals.

Trust me, nothing to be scared of there. TK was very ill when I last saw Strato in London, and his vocals were outstanding, as they have been every time I've seen them live.

:) Thanks Neon. I said this because of the conversation in "Just Kotipelto!!" topic. I see the videos from some days ago and he is not singing very well. We'll see, this is a bit off topic here anyway.

Yes, but somehow the whole line-up's view of making music is changed in my opinion. The Kotipelto songs on Polaris differ from his normal hard rock stuff; they're more complex and metal now. He and Matias seem to make a great team though. :P Also, Porra has like stepped in Tolkki's shoes, pretty much imitating his songwriting, to such degree it's almost inhuman. Emancipation could be a Tolkki epic from the 90s. Without knowing the creator, I would have sworn it must be Tolkki's song. Also you get the picture from other Porra songs too: Falling Star is your mid-tempo rocker like Hunting or Paradise, Forever Is Today is one of the best pure power metal anthems ever and When Mountains Fall - some think still it resembles Forever, and is a basic Strato style ballad. :D Jens, of course, shows his claws for the first time really. Man what sharp claws.

And that is just songwritingwise.
I think both Matias and especially Lauri have become a strong part of the new stratovarius spirit.

Both RR cds have songs I like more than any song on Polaris so I would not say tolkki is out of ideas for my musical taste. Same thing with aquaria cds that have Bruno’s writing.

TK was excellent when I saw them in the Key Club. I was a bit worried going in but he blew my mind away!

The only possible good news if you have someone who is plotting your personal destruction, is if that someone is inept at plotting it. That fortune seems to be ours.
Or having true fans who love you whatever happens, and this is also the case, so...well...

Many mountains we have climbed
But all the bad times are behind
The road is free - I'm coming home

NEWS ABOUT MY BOOK
After a lot of thinking, feeling and getting some distance to my book, I have come to a conclusion that much of the book was written in anger and doesn't represent accurately how things are/were. I cannot release something like that.
Specifically the parts of the book concerning some of the Stratovarius members were
written in much anger and even vengeance. I do not want to generate negativity and hatred, after all this time I am thankful to the guys for some of the best years and moments in my life. And I believe Stratovarius deserves a really well written book, when the time is right.
I set out to write my own book with the help of a Finnish publisher LIKE, the same that published Nightwish book. Somewhere along the way, I got lost.
If my book will ever see the light of the day, it will concentrate more on my personal life and my childhood and of course, music. In these things I believe that my experiences can actually be helpful to some people. It has not been an easy ride.
Thank you for understanding and sorry for you who have been expecting the book. It will take more time now that I am reviewing what to actually put in there.
