"It was always our pleasure, our purpose in life, our passion and we were fortunate enough to make music for you — whether it was live on stage or in the studio, creating new songs.

"While we were working on our album these past few months, we could literally feel how powerful and creative our work was — and how much fun we were still having in the process. But there was also something else: we want to end the SCORPIONS' extraordinary career on a high note.

"We are extremely grateful for the fact that we still have the same passion for music we've always had since the beginning. This is why, especially now, we agree we have reached the end of the road. We finish our career with an album we consider to be one of the best we have ever recorded and with a tour that will start in our home country Germany and take us to five different continents over the next few years.

German melodic metallers EDGUY will support the SCORPIONS on the German leg of their upcoming tour.

Too bad. They have been able to make good albums lately again.

Although I love them from the metal-pioneering early works to the ballad-90s and beyond. ^^ Great if they still can have a quality long tour and happily retire after that, and an album that I hope will be good.

this tour will likely take three years or so if they want, let alone a reunion tour in 3 year. all sorts of bands still releasing albums take 3-4 years of tour inbetween studio albums

There was never a time when they stopped playing so still playing should be the default assumption till a person has news that they stopped playing.

Whatever dude. Since they disappeared from the public scene and it's a very old band, waaay past its glory days, I thought they had disbanded or something... Not to mention that I haven't heard many hard rockers talking about the band, which only reinforced the idea that they were not playing.

I never heard the news that Oliver Bierhoff is no longer playing football, but I assume he's not based on other factors. Just because I haven't heard the news doesn't mean that things don't happen.

Well, maybe it is true the reached the end of the road. They came around 3 years ago to my place and they played really well, but something was wrong, maybe they were tired because of the long trip, but anyway, I have enjoyed their music for 25 years.
I am not happy but so it´s life. Now we should have a replacement for their vacancy.

Let´s see. But I think Rudolf, Klaus und Matthias have taken the right decission.
Their power and glory days have passed, although they have released good albums during the last years, and they still rock. Not so many new bands can have the curriculum Scorpions have. So, what I can say is Hail Scorpions! and thank you for so many years enjoying your music.

This kind of sucks for me, I was also hoping they would rock until they croaked.

However I do have to thank them for much of the music that I enjoy, I wonder if the members will go to other projects or start solo careers

Well, Herman is still playing with his solo project, and Matthias said many times we would continue playing. So I expect more good music from them-

I'm curious to hear the new album. Granted, I haven't heard every Scorpions album but their last one, Humanity: Hour 1, was great. Easily the best album that I have ever heard from them. If their mindset is to go out on a high note, then Humanity would have been a good one to end with. But from the interviews, it sounds like they believe this new one to be even better.

I grew with their music in the eighties, so I feel something specia when i listen Another Piece of Meat, Blackout, Still Loving You...

I will miss them. They have been, or, to be more exact, they still are part of the soundtrack of my life.

well it was a successful career in the least!!!! and i heard Uli is playing on the 70000 tons cruise to mexico. havent got to see the scorpions live but this would be pretty cool to see him.

I didn´t see Uli´s performance when he played not so far from my place a few years ago. Someone told me he was amazing, unique.
