I have also been defending them. I love gambling with the devil.Ragehead91 wrote:Yes, they are serious. The Album is full of that bullshit apart from "The Keeper's Trilogy" and "A Tale That Wasn't Right". Especially the new versions of "I Want Out", "Dr. Stein" and "Eagle Fly Free" are horrendous in my opinion.
You know, in the past I always tried to defend them from everyone who said they suck since Kai or Kiske left the band or because of Andi Deris. I love the band. But this really sucks. Say about Chameleon what you will, but at least they didn't butcher the classics.
I like all their stuff with Andi. Especially Dark Ride, Gambling and Master Of The Rings. Yes, they don't play that straight-forward style of Power Metal that Kai Hansen does with Gamma Ray (at least not most of the time), but that doesn't make them bad. But this record...Well, at least we'll probably have a real album by the end of the year.Rage1979 wrote:I have also been defending them. Those three you mentioned are the greatest =)Ragehead91 wrote:I like all their stuff with Andi. Especially Dark Ride, Gambling and Master Of The Rings. It is really strange that most people seem to dislike "The Dark Ride". Yes, it isn't your typical "happy Helloween" kind of album (exept for "All Over The Nation" and "Salvation") but it still has some really great Songs like The Dark Ride, Departed (Sun Is Going Down), Mr. Torture, Escalation 666, If I Could Fly, The Madness Of The Crowds and Deliver Us From Temptation (why are those two bonus tracks?). The only song I really dislike is "I Live For Your Pain".Rage1979 wrote:Those three you mentioned are the greatest =)Ragehead91 wrote:I like all their stuff with Andi. I live for your pain i a good song... But songs lite The departed and Mr torture are among their best ever.Ragehead91 wrote:It is really strange that most people seem to dislike "The Dark Ride". Maybe Roland's best song.Ragehead91 wrote:The Main Track is a masterpiece. Everyone who says that Roland can't write songs should listen to this one.
Only thing I would've changed is the finale. After the last guitar solo Andi again sings the "Is It any wonder..." part and then it fades out. They just should've done the chorus again.Rage1979 wrote:Maybe Roland's best song.Ragehead91 wrote:The Main Track is a masterpiece. As for DUFT, it's because Markus has always been the king of B-sides.Ragehead91 wrote:The Madness Of The Crowds and Deliver Us From Temptation (why are those two bonus tracks?)
I know. All this Japanese Bonus Track BS.Jabi wrote:As for DUFT, it's because Markus has always been the king of B-sides.Ragehead91 wrote:The Madness Of The Crowds and Deliver Us From Temptation (why are those two bonus tracks?)
Seriously, it has been said the management decided the album tracks, not the band. I don't know if it's true or not.
There was already a topic... I am sorry.. haven't been here for awhile.gon wrote:Not the best release, definitely. Kind of a joke, I suppose.
Who cares? The Album sucks so much it deserves 2 topics.Rage1979 wrote:There was already a topic... I am sorry.. haven't been here for awhile.gon wrote:Not the best release, definitely. Kind of a joke, I suppose.
Indeed. The problem here aren't the performances.gon wrote:All of them are great musicians, nobody discuss it, but... they made a mistake, in my opinion.
Yeah sure. We just can hope the next album is really good...Ragehead91 wrote:Indeed. The problem here aren't the performances.gon wrote:All of them are great musicians, nobody discuss it, but... they made a mistake, in my opinion.
Sascha said in an interview that they'll be on tour again by the end of the year. I hope that is true.Rage1979 wrote:Yeah sure. They won't preform with these versions live!Ragehead91 wrote:Sascha said in an interview that they'll be on tour again by the end of the year. I hope that is true.Rage1979 wrote:Yeah sure. Actually they do. They're doing some one-off shows in some CD stores.Rage1979 wrote:They won't preform with these versions live!Ragehead91 wrote:Sascha said in an interview that they'll be on tour again by the end of the year. Agreed 100%.icecab21 wrote:If the band originally did the songs this way, people would not be fussing about it, that’s mainly why I think it’s lame that people are so dramatic about it. I respect the band more for doing this kind of thing than if they restricted themselves to what some community so disrespectfully demands. It’s a lot more mature if people go "I don't like it and won't listen to it, but I’m glad they did it how they wanted to and I hope their next album is X way".
