I have 3 Browsers installed on my PC:
1. Mozilla: My fav by far! Its the most versatile, fatest one and has many cool extensions(I have only the Extra bookmarks, and weather one). Good security. I got on a bad website the other day(it was disguised as a free sample site )and in 1 second Mozilla sent 3 pop-ups warning me, it was like "Danger, Will Robinson! Danger! Danger!" And I backed off that webpage in a hurry!
2. Google Chrome: I love its simplicity and ease of use. Nice back-up!
3. Avant: A nifty little browser that looks good, is easy to use, and only 2MB. The only drawback is Avant rated only mediocre in security, otherwise I would use it alot more than I do. It imported all my Mozilla bookmarks with no problem.
I tried to download Safari, but it did not go for some reason. But I am glad because it was a space hog(20 MB)and a cyber expert I know said it was not as sercure as one might think.
I tried Opera and did not like it, so I uninstalled it.
I like to have at least 3 so if one goes South, or crashes for some reason I have a back-up.
What browser do you have, and why?
Any ones you'd recommend?
BTW, in my opinion, IE sucks. :yuk: 'nuff said.

The only reason you should EVER use Opera is for it's incredibly wonderful hacking abilities.

Mozilla? I guess you're referring to Firefox (Mozilla used to be Mozilla's foundation only browser, the direct successor to Netscape, it's now a separate project called Seamonkey and nobody uses it anymore).
I've been using Firefox since the early days, Phoenix/Firebird 0.7. It got slower and slower, but it's the only browser I'm really confortable with. I don't really like browsers at all...

I use Opera on my PC's at home, as well as on a Linux laptop at work. IE 8 (not bad at all) for desktop PC's at work.Morgana wrote:Opera
I'm even running Opera Mini 5.0 Beta 2 on my Blackberry, and I am impressed with it!

I used to use Mozilla Firefox and Opera, but because of security problems I switched to Google Chrome. I like it. It's fast and secure.
Re: Browser Wars: Which Side are You On?
Firefox. It's the fastest and most customizable. Linux has other fast browsers such as Galeon, but they don't have the same features. Opera feels a lot heavier and slower to me.

Its the Timo Tolkki of the browser worldStealth wrote:Opera feels a lot heavier and slower to me.
And Jenn would be IE...everyone uses her. :rotflmao1:
Actually, I take it back. Jenn is Firefox, and Timo Tolkki is a Firefox plugin.

I am using Opera most of the time, but I like FireFox too. I hate IE with a passion.

So do I! Its just too slow, but part of it is that I am on dial-up and live so far in the sticks I have no other choice. I missed getting DSL by 3 miles. Also, IE has quite a few security issues I am not comfortable with. And, most victims of modem hijacking have been users of IE.Beast_Pete wrote:I am using Opera most of the time, but I like FireFox too. I hate IE with a passion.
Re: Browser Wars: Which Side are You On?
ATM moment I jst use IE, and I've to say I got used to it really quick. But if I had the chance, FireFox for sure

Well, it does not take long to download it, and from my experience it's worth it!ggonza43 wrote:ATM moment I jst use IE, and I've to say I got used to it really quick. But if I had the chance, FireFox for sure

Firefox, although Google Chrome seems pretty good too!

Re: Browser Wars: Which Side are You On?
Opera on my Windows partition and Firefox on my Ubuntu partition
Re: Browser Wars: Which Side are You On?
Guess I'm gonna stick with IE. Previously I had Mozilla and it was really good, but for some reason it was the browser that brought us the more amount of virus, and after trying many others we (my brother and I) decided just to use IEbrowneyedgirl wrote:Well, it does not take long to download it, and from my experience it's worth it!ggonza43 wrote:ATM moment I jst use IE, and I've to say I got used to it really quick. Re: Browser Wars: Which Side are You On?
I think there is a campaign to get rid of IE6, so if you have it its best to upgrade soon! I have IE7, and I think thats as far as this computer will expand to. Its a 2002 model. 2.4GHz, but needs more RAM and a bigger hard drive.
Re: Browser Wars: Which Side are You On?
Already did that, and got to say it's fast enough for mebrowneyedgirl wrote:I think there is a campaign to get rid of IE6, so if you have it its best to upgrade soon!
