That is ridiculous. Football is not a Brazilian sport, it is not a German sport, it is not a Spanish sport or even an English sport (even though they invented it). It is a global sport and it represents the cultures and identities of so many countries and people around the world that claiming that purely by being from Brazil it instantly means more to you and you automatically know more about it than anyone else is just stupid.
It's important to people everywhere, as a form of culture and identity.
You even know how futebol is organize in our country... I talk about the championships, teams and the players revelations... I have saw ,like my friends in this country, things that anyone in the other country dream to see
Really?
For you to say something like that means that you watch the Premier League, Serie A, La Liga and Bundesliga every week right? And you know what's going on in other countries such as France, Greece, Netherlands and Russia as well, true?
I don't follow the Brazilian league very closely, so I'm not going to pretend that I know much about it but for you to say something so categorical is just facetious.
It's like saying 'Swedish death metal is better than Florida death metal' completely overlooking the socio-economic and geopolitical factors influencing both types of death metal.
One could say 'Florida death metal sells more records' like the same way Brazil have won more world cups. Is Brazil the most successful WC nation? Yes. Is Brazilian football the best in the world? No, because that question does not have an answer. Italy have won 4 WCs so far but their league is far more boring to watch than the English Premier League and England have won 1 WC, 44 years ago and were a total disaster this time, as were Italy. One thing is therefore not necessarily linked to the other.
Personally, I find the Greek First Division to be the most exciting, but that's my own opinion. I won't go around claiming it is the 'best' league and that anyone from outside there wouldn't dream of seeing things like that.
I think Maradona is less than what Romario was and you know what I am talking about because what "baixinho" did in Barcelona was just awesome...People said that he played even more than Ronaldo... Maybe in the WC 2014 the TV can show to you the wonderful and magic that futebol is to us... And Messi? He has not won a WC and in this WC he is not doing anything that show to me he is better
Does it upset you that the player regarded as the best in the world is not Brazilian? And does it upset you that Maradona is Argentinian but is widely regarded as the best player ever? You know, there are good players in other countries as well. I think Messi has been incredible in the world cup so far. He plays a different role to the one he plays in Barca, but he's been so effective in supporting Higuain and Tevez. He hasn't scored 15 goals, but he's been really great.
People were saying the same thing as Ronaldinho last time around. But of course, he's Brazilian, so he's obviously better than anyone from another country right?
A true Amarelao... Maradona is trying to make Argentina show to people a spetacular team which this weak ones is not... We will see... Mesut Özil is gonna destroy them
Weak? How is the Argentinian team weak? They've beaten every other team they've encountered pretty easily. They have a perfect record of 4 victories so far in the WC, Brazil only have 3 and 1 draw. So, on paper (which means nothing as we all know), they've actually been stronger than Brazil if you want to look at it like that...
Germany has been excellent but I think their youth could be their undoing. It will be a close match I think.
If he and his germany team won't do this, you can let for Brazil that we will...
How do you know this?
Do you just think that 'we are Brazil, we are the best team, therefore we will win' and simply cannot contemplate anything else?
ANY team can be defeated, ANY team can win, and the result is NEVER certain. That's the beautiful thing about football. The best team on paper might only be the second best in the match. Remember 1998? Remember 2004?
Look, I'm not doubting Brazil's abilities as a team. I think they play wonderfully and I've always loved Brazilian football. I think Dunga is the best coach they've had since '94 and I really do expect them to make it all the way to the final, and
probably win it. Again, you can never be sure of anything but it's a balance of probabilities.
But if what you're saying is a general indicator of the attitude of the Brazilian public, then I fully understand why Dunga hates the media there so much. If Brazil win, I'll actually be most happy for him getting his revenge and making all the critics shut the hell up. And I heard that he'll quit even if they do win, which I think would be awesome.
