It was a good interview, but one thing stuck out:

I always said that if Kotipelto, Jens or Joerg leaves the band, it cannot be called Stratovarius anymore. So therefore I think that decision was morally wrong.

So if Jari leaves the band, its totally ok to continue. But god forbid Jorg quits. How can we go on??

It wasn't much of a thing when Newstedt was replaced by Trujillo in Metallica but if Ulrich, Hetfield or Hammett would have left, it would have been quite hard to call it Metallica

It wasn't much of a thing when Newstedt was replaced by Trujillo in Metallica but if Ulrich, Hetfield or Hammett would have left, it would have been quite hard to call it Metallica

I don't believe there was anything unethical about Helloween carrying on after Hansen was replaced by Roland. Neither when Jani from Sonata Arctica was replaced by Elias. I just don't see what the big deal is.

I can't accept that Jorg was so instrumental to the success of the band that Stratovarius could not continue without him, but Jari was a nobody that can be tossed away like a used condom.

Don't get me wrong- I think its fine that Tolkki left the band to work on other projects. I just can't find anything unethical about carrying on the Stratovarius name. It took many years to build that reputation up...why toss it away? In the end, I think every decision made was best for everyone. Strato guys are putting out great albums, and Tolkki has every possibility in front of him too. Whether its photography, forming a supergroup, or growing a thin mustache and joining the porn industry...

Jari had his personal bass sound in Stratovarius as well as Jörg had his own drum sound, althought it's not as easy to hear, than drum sound. So Jari wasn't "nobody". Porra is also a great bassist, but for me Jari is the best bassist of Stratovarius.
