Stratovarius will release "Darkest Hours", an EP consisting of five songs, through earMUSIC/edel on November 26th, 2010. This is a preview for the fans until the arrival of the band's new album titled "Elysium" in February 2011.

The new songs in the the EP combine the classic powerful and melodic style with unreleased live tracks and are real collector materials because they have never been published before.

This EP will be presented in two formats (digipack & 12-inch vinyl) and the 12-inch vinyl will be limited to 1000 copies only worldwide.

Wow, didn't expect that! My mind grows speculations over speculations atm How many new songs will be released, one (probably yes) or even more? Will the new song(s) also appear on the album (probably yes), or only on the EP? Will there be a live vid of one of the Polaris tracks, not only audio (probably not, unfortunately)? Will there be extra stuff from the Polaris tour, maybe a collection of all the Tour in Progress vids (ditto)? Will Illumination be a title for another new song instead? Will Darkest Hours also be the title of one of the tracks (probably yes)? Why am I surprised by such a rather "depressive" title and cover, thus: Can't wait for the lyrics and who wrote them...
This is too much. I'm taking back what I said before, I feel the terrible need of some official confirmation now
