I know it's a solo project, and I'm not saying he can't try with other kind of genres; it's just that listening to him for so many years at a prog band makes me thinks of his voice as a mainly progressive style, and it's hard to get used to the new direction he took with this side-projectRazielSR wrote:Anyway, why do you want to find the same as with DT? This is a solo album, I want different things from James, and that's different.

yeah a lot of money I think it cost something beyond a million bucks to produce that album, and it sound like a million bucks productionpneumonia wrote:I've heard that he spent really really a lot of money for this production and wasn't wastedadrian9 wrote:I just bough "chinese democracy" HELL of an album, top nocht production amazing tunes it really rocks , I didnt expect that at first but is a totally awesome album.....that of couse doesnt mean that you have to wait 12+ years for it......stupid Axl.![]()
My last albums
DT-Images&Words-Live in Tokyo (it's good, but they didn't play Metropolis and LaBrie was in mediocre shape)
DT-Once in Livetime - this one I recommend, it's long - 2:00, a lot of material, songs from Awake,FII and ACOS, it's good to see Derek and Kevin, and a lot of guests (like Bruce Dickinson), stupid stories and covers, videoclips and also some unplugged material.
For once I agree with you, I think though, that Buckethead is the star of the album, without him it would have been the huge failure everyone expected.adrian9 wrote:I just bough "chinese democracy" HELL of an album, top nocht production amazing tunes it really rocks , I didnt expect that at first but is a totally awesome album.....that of couse doesnt mean that you have to wait 12+ years for it......stupid Axl.
Thinking Buckethead is good is REALLY far from any light. >.>adrian9 wrote:it was about time...you have seen the light
Acceptable leads is the word you're looking for.adrian9 wrote:here we go.......the album is great and buckethead delivered amazing leads!
so, you can do it better?Balu wrote:Acceptable leads is the word you're looking for.adrian9 wrote:here we go.......the album is great and buckethead delivered amazing leads!
Nope, but I can compare it to other people's leads. This 'can you do it better?' arguement is totally ridiculous.adrian9 wrote:so, you can do it better?Balu wrote:Acceptable leads is the word you're looking for.adrian9 wrote:here we go.......the album is great and buckethead delivered amazing leads!
Who the fuck cares if a lead or whatever other part of a song on whatever instrument is hard to play or not? It is all about how enjoyable the song is, and Buckethead is at best mediocre if you think of him this way.adrian9 wrote:sorry sr. since you said it was Acceptable I guess your based your opinion in something more than the KFC mask; being a guitar player myself I can assure you that Buckethead´s leads are far beyond impossible to play ; and he is in the big leagues of shreeding for more that a decade.
like I´ve said before, is ok not to like a paint,a band, a film, a guitar player. but putting a tag in something you have not idea how to craft.........that is ridiculous.

so we were talking about good guitar players and leads isnt?balu wrote:Nope, but I can compare it to other people's leads. This 'can you do it better?' arguement is totally ridiculous.
How about you actually try to understand what I'm saying. How hard to play a lead doesn't equal how good a lead is, just as technical skill isn't the only way to judge a guitar player.adrian9 wrote:just a quick flashbackBalu wrote:Who the fuck cares if a lead or whatever other part of a song on whatever instrument is hard to play or not? and now you say who cares about leads ? and we are talking about enjoyable songs!... you dont even know what the hell are you talkin´about.............ignore list already.
I could EASILY name at least 10 better guitarists off the top of my headRebel wrote:Buckethead is the most talented human being to ever pick up an electric guitar.
We can argue the human being part, but that's about it.

Nah. Buckedhead is a mediocre guitarist, but this is a subjective opinion, so we can't really argue about who's better.Rebel wrote:Except you would be wrong on all 10 counts.Balu wrote:I could EASILY name at least 10 better guitarists off the top of my headRebel wrote:Buckethead is the most talented human being to ever pick up an electric guitar.

I could say those, but metal has so many good ones... I could say anyone from Tolkki to Petrucci, or Romeo, or even my current favorite, Gary Wehrkamp.adrian9 wrote:Rebel wrote:Except you would be wrong on all 10 counts.Balu wrote:I could EASILY name at least 10 better guitarists off the top of my headRebel wrote:Buckethead is the most talented human being to ever pick up an electric guitar.

and we already know the list, Vai, Satriani, Becker, Friedman,Malmsteem,Gilbert., blah blah blah, all of them .............the same school buckethead went, and furthermore.....they rip off each other
Well, to aport my opinion here, I honestly don't like Buckethead's style. He may be a great guitarrist and I'm not denying that, it's just that his playing is "weird" when compared with, I don't know, Vai or Straiani. Of course those are the ones at the top of my head and I know they aren't that similar, it's just that I don't feel that joy and emotion when listening to his riffs or solos the way I do with other guitarrists...Rebel wrote:Buckethead is the most talented human being to ever pick up an electric guitar.
