Your impression of Darkest Hours EP
Jens' solo before Black Diamond (live), discuss.
Re: Your impression of Darkest Hours EP
What to say? In every single show they play Black Diamond, his solo is always different. I mean, that's gonna be something we'll all love

Re: Your impression of Darkest Hours EP
In the end it's really all about personal tastes and what we all like to hear, me personally I like it when a singer or band tries something a little different every time.
However I do know that doesn't work for everybody, I have many friends who absolutely hate it when a band deviates from a set sound.

Re: Your impression of Darkest Hours EP
I have to say. At the moment the song 'Darkest Hours' is the best Stratovarius song for me. It's perfect both musically and vocally and I love the lyrics. I love the song!
Re: Your impression of Darkest Hours EP
I think it's the best song for a single. Is it Strato's best song? I have my doubts there
, I prefer a lot more "Infernal Maze" (Man! Can't stop listening to it over and over again!)

This is what I have with the song Darkest Hours. Listening to it constantly.ggonza43 wrote:Man! Can't stop listening to it over and over again!

Re: Your impression of Darkest Hours EP
Today I have received the EP from Finland. Hey, it's cool. I like a lot the package. I like a lot the whole EP, it is a really good new cd from Strato. I'm happy!

...Faster than light, higher than the sky, stronger than steel...We´re the legions of the Twilight...
Re: Your impression of Darkest Hours EP
The more I hear Darkest Hours (the song), the more I love it. The guitar parts are so cool throughout the whole song!

I never said I liked the guitarparts.
I'm going to leave this forum for a while. Too many people here who think they are the boss, or who think they are funny. (not directed to you ggonza

Maybe I'll return in a few months.

Completely agree. It's the only trouble with these forums (apart from the huge spamming).

Re: Your impression of Darkest Hours EP
I like both the new songs, Infernal Maze most, maybe because it's got fresh parts of the Strato sound I missed so much from the mid 1990 era. But DH is great one too, i'm too excited for the album. That 18 minute song will just be epic!ggonza43 wrote:I think it's the best song for a single. Is it Strato's best song? I have my doubts there, I prefer a lot more "Infernal Maze" (Man! Re: Your impression of Darkest Hours EP
I have to say that Im not that amazed about these two song. Yeah, they sure are great but I miss that "let's save the galaxies!" - theme, same happened when I compare Polaris and Visions, for example. Their older material was more like that how I imagine Stratovarius. Don't get me wrong, I like Polaris but it definitely isn't my favourite. Of course their music is completely different because Tolkki ain't in the band anymore, we all know that. Still I have the feeling that something is missing. But thats just my opnion

Re: Your impression of Darkest Hours EP
I think Strato has had one too many songs about saving the planet..It's a good message yes but there's just so much of it in Tolkki's music.

Sure too much is too much. that doesn't really bother me, usually I just listen to the music and the whole "thing", not words that much.Kosmo wrote:I think Strato has had one too many songs about saving the planet..It's a good message yes but there's just so much of it in Tolkki's music.

Re: Your impression of Darkest Hours EP
I have heard latest album from my friend who is quite close to band. The style has totally changed and is not Stratovarius anymore. It is just a different band.
It is clear Symfonia carries continuation of Stratovarius metal sound and all eyes are on them.

Re: Your impression of Darkest Hours EP
Wow, an user from Egypt - Cool
! Anyway, I don't care if it doesn't sound like the old albums, it's still Stratovarius to me

Re: Your impression of Darkest Hours EP
Of course is it not Stratovarius. 2/3rd of songs are written from a guy who joined the band just for Polaris. Fucking hell.ggonza43 wrote:I don't care if it doesn't sound like the old albums, it's still Stratovarius to me

The Stratovarius magic is gone and it will take more than ten people in an internet forum.
Re: Your impression of Darkest Hours EP
Well, maybe if you give Matias a chance, you'll start to like him a bit more. If you're a real fan, you should be OK or at least semi-pleased with this change
