I LOVE IT! There is variety.....it breaks from the formula. In the few short seconds of each track it really smashes anything that people may have thought about Stratovarius before now. There is passion and emotion. There is a flow to each song and there is enough flash to make it familiar yet different. Kudos Stratovarius..... you are going to usher a new level of melodic power metal! CAN' T WAIT

These songs are great.... I will admit , I had to listen to them a few times to get into the groove. I guess you think of Stratovarius being a certain way for so long, that they have totally rewritten themselves. Definitely still Strato but very different as well. I feel like they went with alot of substance this time instead the flash ! Love it!

Under Flaming Skies sounds very Kotipelto, but his writing is vastly improved from earlier days.

Event Horizon and Lifetime in a moment sound incredible, and I don't think we're going to really get an idea of what the title track will sound like until we have it

I've finished downloading and instaling iTunes. I'll be back with some comments

EDIT: I've listened them all. "Under Flaming Skies" sounds so great that I'm actually loving it; it's a fresh, right-in-your-face metal song. "Fairness Justififed" has one of the most enchanting and wonderful bridge/chorus since Matias joined the band, really gorgeous. "The Game Never Ends", as I said before, is very uplifting, and that guitar riff I'm sure I've heard it before at one of Lauri's video. "Lifetime In A Moment" is still the mysterious track of the album, can't state anything. "Move The Mountain" is just...beautiful, no reason to add anything else. "Event Horizon", I got to say I'm still banging my head, fucking epic! And "Elysium" is sounding cool so far, but I can't say anything else as I've only heard 30 seconds of 18 minutes

The demos are great as well, only near a month remaining. Can't wait anymore

On another note, the samples sound fantastic. Event Horizon particularly sounds fucking amazing. I sense this album will sound very different from what many fans are used to, but I like that alot. I think it's the right way to go with their music, it keeps things unpredictable and that's a cool thing.

One positive thing that I can say about Elysium is that Timo Kotipelto does not write many songs. He is a nice guy on personal level, but I always feel something "missing" from his writing.
