The Arctic Sonata

Post by HinatAArcticA » Fri Aug 05, 2011 2:59 am

Finnish Metal wolves SONATA ARCTICA are howling again - namely in the form of a new live DVD! "Live In Finland" shows the full concert which was played on the 15th of April 2011 in Club Teatria in Oulu, Finland. Apart from timeless classics à la 'Full Moon' or 'Letter To Dana', various tracks of the current album "The Days Of Grays" have found their way into the setlist, thus on the DVD as well. This heady mixture of old and new compositions of SONATA ARCTICA is supplemented by a bonus DVD on which four recorded tracks of the very own SONATA ARCTICA festival can be found that took place on the 8th of August 2009 in Kemi. Furthermore, the viewer can enjoy the music videos of 'Don't Say A Word', 'Paid In Full' and 'Flag In The Ground' as well as a photo gallery and some making-ofs that document the DVD's creation. The enclosed bonus CD with eight audio recordings of the festival concert gives the final touch to this release so that "Live In Finland" will make each and every SONATA ARCTICA fan cry tears of joy.

Keyboarder Henrik Klingenberg states: "It's been a very hot summer here in Finland, and while most people headed to the beach, we've been working ourasses off editing and compiling our new DVD. This time around we wanted to give you a show from our homecountry Finland. The main show was filmed at the Teatria club in Oulu, Finland, last April. It showcases Sonata Arctica towards the end of the Days of Grays World Tour which started back in 2009. We played a total of over 180 shows in almost 40 countries during the tour. This will be a 2-DVD release with lots of bonuses, we'll have tour documentaries, making-ofs as well as music videos and bonus songs from our very own Sonata Arctica Open Air festival, held in our hometown Kemi in August 2009. Whether you missed us or checked us out during this world tour, this DVD will be the complete guide to what we've been up to these past two years. I'm sure you all will enjoy watching this DVD as much as we've enjoyed making it. The Days of Grays World Tour has been absolutely fantastic and I'm very happy that we've managed to capture all the ups and downs on film. You'll know what I'm talking about when we get this monsterpackage out!"

Convince yourselves! Cutoff date is the 28th of October, 2011. Autumn will be colorful - thanks to SONATA ARCTICA!

- Intro (Everything Fades To Gray)
- Flag In The Ground
- The Last Amazing Grays
- Juliet
- Replica
- Blank File
- As If The World Wasn't Ending
- Paid in Full
- Victoria's Secret
- Instrumental Paté
- The Misery
- FullMoon
- In Black and White

Acoustic:
- Mary-Lou
- Shy
- Letter to Dana

Encore:
- Caleb
- Tallulah
- Don't Say A Word
- Vodka (Hava Nagila)
- Everything Fades To Gray (Outro)

Let me point out that Ecliptica has the most songs in the Setlist. (Shy was originally a Pre-Ecliptica Demo)

Also, there will be a second DVD with 4 songs from the Sonata Arctica Open Air. That setlist is:

- Paid in Full
- 8th Commandment
- Caleb
- Replica
- The Last Amazing Grays
- Black Sheep
- The Cage
- FullMoon
- White Pearl, Black Oceans...
- Tallulah
- Flag In The Ground
- In Black and White

Encore:
- Draw Me
- National Finnish Anthem
- Don't Say A Word
- Vodka (Hava Nagila)

My prediction is that the 4 songs will be:
8th Commandment, Black Sheep, The Cage and White Pearl Black Oceans, since those were not in the Oulu setlist.

There will also be an audio CD with 8 tracks from that show... well, it's all on my original post.

Let me point out that there are more old songs than new, and the new ones are great choices. I just died a little inside when they didn't include Deathaura in any of those shows.

That wouldn't have bothered me so much but I do agree with you, I do like it when a band mixes it up so you get all era's and not just filled up with new stuff.

Your daughter is not much under the bed either.
I say that from experience, since I am too heavy to be on top.

I am sorry for what my father said in the other thread. He was hungry. Very, very hungry. Huh!
