go figure....

Mourinho's spokesman reveals and then denies Coach's intentions of quitting Real Madrid

Speculation today surrounded Jose Mourinho’s future as Real Madrid Coach when it emerged he was considering leaving the club in light of a perceived ‘lack of support’ at board level, before his spokesman later denied it.

Mourinho’s spokesman and Press officer Eladio Parames was quoted earlier today explaining that the Coach is unhappy at a perceived lack of support from the club at board level. In quotes run by Canal Plus, Parames said: “Jose does not feel embraced by the club, and is considering calling a Press conference and announcing his departure from Real Madrid.”
Adrian9 wrote:He is not being embraced by anybody if you ask me
In the wake of last week’s controversy that surrounded the Supercopa de Espana second leg, and more specifically Mourinho’s role in a clash with Tito Vilanova, the club have maintained their stance of media silence.

This had reportedly upset Mourinho who has faced international criticism on the matter, as well as being heavily condemned from Barcelona’s Vice-President, several of their first team players and even former Real general manager Jorge Valdano, who Mourinho notably clashed with last season.

Mourinho was quoted after the Supercopa second leg Clasico as saying: “ Madrid has come here and played a spectacular match. I can not say anything more about my team. Then, what happened at the end has done so because they [Barcelona] wanted it that way, not one of us. With Vilanova or whatever you call him, I do not know what he is called ... I have nothing to say. I am educated in the philosophy of football and football is for men.”

Reports earlier in the week suggested Mourinho was set to apologise in the wake of the criticism levied at him, but instead issued a statement through Parames denying that, and that he did not have to ‘ask for forgiveness’. This is now followed by the comments attributed to Parames suggesting he is considering his future at the club.

However, Marca are running quotes from Parames denying these claims.

The Spanish FA (RFEF) confirmed both Mourinho and Vilanova are under investigation for their pitch-side clash, with Mourinho facing a possible ban of between four and 10 games, and Vilanova up to four games.

I like how Mourinho has become a liability, and they can't actually get rid of him. The problem is, if they DO get rid of him, who will replace him!??! Who's crazy enough to want to take on probably the most difficult job in football, at a time when Barcelona are virtually invincible?

Anyway, my predictions of Arsenal finally becoming useless have come true. 8-2 is not a defeat, it's a demolition and this was to a team with the same average age... it's not a matter of experience, it's the fact that Arsenal now lack any creative, star players... there is no ambition at the club, so why would the star players want to stay? Van Persie cannot carry the team, and Arshavin's fed up of the situation. Arsenal are probably in danger of losing their top 4 spot - Manchester City are looking absolutely lethal... David Silva's really gotten into the swing of things and Edin Dzenko is in excellent form.

North London was destroyed by Manchester today.

I'm surprised at Arsenal's latest performance. They were always in the top 5 along with Chelsea, Man U, Man City, and Liverpool. It seems that this season will be no different than last season for them.

Anyway, I'm confident that Man U will win the Barclays again (though I am a Chelsea fan), they have proven themselves worth winning the league.

As for the UEFA supercup, Porto could have at least scored one goal. They had many chances in the game. Until the red card they were playing just fine.

Man City weren't really a top-5 team until they got bought out by rich Arabs. Before then they were a mid-table club. Tottenham were more of the 5th team in the Premiership, along with others like Aston Villa and Everton. I watch Man City with interest - they're like an extreme version of Roman Abramovich's whole Chelsea experiment. Pump enough money into a team and you'll win things, or so it would seem... anyway it will be interesting to see what Man U will do when they come up against in-form teams like Liverpool and Chelsea, and of course Man City - that's going to be the big match of the season!

For one week things were looking good for HJK Helsinki. They achieved a 2:0 win at home... only to get their asses kicked 1:6 in Gelsenkirchen. Not sure what happened after the first half there, I guess the coach tried a chance of tactics but it didn't work... the players looked kind of confused as to what to do on the pitch.

It's being used for concerts and other events. The other local teams prefer their own home stadiums. There's been some talk of re-launching the team (the joint-stock company TamU went bankrupt, but the registered association TamU still exists)... we'll see if something's going to come out of that.
