Some love for Jens!
I'm just saying that if they are bringing in some bands from the 90's maybe they will start bringing in some bands from the recent decade.

Yeah, slowly but surely, they're working on it.
But the '90s was 20 years ago, so those would be considered "classic" bands now.

Very true however I also look at it this way, there are only so many bands from both decades that they can bring on the show before they are forced to bring in some new ones.

Right; I think so too.
Well, we're already 2 years into a new decade, so maybe next year they'll consider bands from the '00s to be "classic" enough?

Let's hope so; 'cause quite honestly, no good TV show can survive without progression, and certainly if the network brass has any sense, they would see that you can only rehash these hair-metal guys so many times before viewers stop giving a sh*t and start tuning out.

Re: Some love for Jens!
And I mean no disrepsect to those bands; I am saying that about all the bands they've had on there, even the ones I like. Much as I love DT and Mike Portnoy, they can only put him on the show so many times before I'm like, "OK, he isn't really telling us anything new or anything I haven't already seen on his website".
So yeah, they really should mix it up. I think the most "recent" bands they've had on there were the guys from Hatebreed and Slipknot. Not exactly my brand of metal, but at least the show is making some headway and more current bands are slowly but surely starting to be featured.

That's what I'm saying too, I have notices some episodes with a few bands from the late 90's or early 00's so I'm thinking they are slowly but surely getting there.

Re: Some love for Jens!
Another reason why I think it's important for newer bands to be featured is because they can be promoted even when they're not guesting on the show. For example, I was watching a rerun earlier today and the Top 5 list was "Best Albums of This Century". To think of all the albums that *didn't* make the lists so that there would be room for the latest release from the hair-metal band that they're obligated to promote...!
Re: Some love for Jens!
Definitely that way it can actually be considered non biased.
