Right now I've been working on a new cover, on this song.
Here's an early 40 seconds (or so) sample. The mix is just an early mix, and there's no bass yet (I managed to create a bass line very HARD for me to play and now I can't record it
...), but I like the sound a lot, and unlike many metal covers of that song, that kinda loose the whole idea of the origina track, I'm trying to retain the original song's feel while adding that fast melodic metal touch to it.Instruments Used (All Played by Me)
- Electric Guitar (Ibanez RG350DX)
- Midi Drums (I don't have the means to do any better than this at the moment, but I intend to put a lot of production into it)
*All following are Reason Sampled and played with keyboard Axiom Pro 61
- Piano
- Harpsichord
- Vocal Choir
- Violin
- Hammond Organ
- Strings
- Lead Keys
- Glockenspiel
- Tubular Bells (Not on sample)
The mixing technique it's far more advanced than the Tetris Cover. Basically the Tetris Cover had no technique at all
Also, yeah. I copy-pasted my post from the SA forum
Oh and... all I have to work is a 7yo DELL Inspiron laptop with Sony Acid 4.0 and that's it. I recorded most of the instruments at someone else's computer, but the mix is done on Acid... I SOOOOOO want an iMac with Pro Tools
