Not entirely, but I do think that the industry is a huge problem and there needs to be a major overhaul there. They have way too much control. I'm not saying they shouldn't have any, but like I said before, I think it's wrong when people in the healthcare industry have more say in what's to be done with a patient than the patient's doctor. People who have never studied medicine and wouldn't know the first thing about a medical procedure, making major life decisions for a patient who needs medical care. I also think this is where people have a reasonable fear of universal health care, because they feel that it will give the healthcare industry even greater power.

There are also many millions of other people that live in public housing, that keep hatching child after child, and with different fathers, that feel entitled to not only "free housing", but also "free food", in addition to "free healthcare". These people have zero ambition to better themselves, and their numbers must be taken into consideration. Why should the taxpayers be liable for the recreational sex and lack of responsibility for these deadbeats?

I agree with this, but there are also millions of disabled Americans who are unable to work or unable to take care of themselves, who sadly get lumped in together with all these deadbeats and are told to go f*ck ourselves because society has some strange idea that having a disability that you did not ask for is exactly the same as choosing to lie on your back and pump out kids that could have easily been prevented...when birth control is available in clinics all over the country!!!

It's the same in any developed country - a lot of people realise they can get away with doing fuck all and actually live a comfortable life. Anyone who watches Jeremy Kyle will know this. (I watched way more of that crap as a student than I really should've.) However, as you mention, a lot of people have genuine reasons to recieve help and it really isn't fair to lump them in with people who are too lazy to get off their ass and get a job.

I'll keep to a desk job, thanks! It's the same here. I don't want to sound... 'class-ist'? but many of the lower-income people I've run into here do have a... shall we say 'poor' grasp of the realities of the world around them. Just the other day I overheard a conversation on the bus about how someone was convinced David Cameron 'was the bloke who made Titanic, innit'. This person was then surprised that Titanic was actually a real event and not just a film. It was probably the first time I had contemplated suicide through entirely losing faith in humanity.

Stupidity and ignorance is, unfortunately, a global plague.

Having said that, I think the willfully unemployed (i.e. people who scrounge off benefits while having no good reason to) are far more ignorant than people who actually do work... even if it's a crappy job, you're still contributing something to society and as a result will learn something from it. Being an active member of a community forces you to take a stand on issues. Sitting at home all day doing fuck all doesn't make you do anything.

I think my viewpoint on that is based more on intelligence level than anything having to do with race or class. There can be intelligent people among the poor, just as there are idiots among the rich (haven't the flood of "celebutantes" over the last 10 years shown us this?). It's true though that smarter people tend to be more careful about things, and think things through, which results in a lower rate of reproduction.
