Great, now that pic of Lars is gonna give me nightmares.

are we still talking bandstuff here?Doro TC wrote:@Adrian, time heals NOT everything. Unfortunatelly.
And in about 10-24 years, like you say, tolkki will not be able to even fart by himself and not to mention to play guitar. I dont think FATE will be mercyful for him for all his SINS he made in his poor life. Sad but true.
that Lars pic reminds me , Jason Newsted left metallica in less that amicable terms (did you see "some kind of monster" documentary? if not go check it out) and also when James was unable to perform with the band , those guys went to hell and back, and guess what ? they reunited in their rock and roll hall on fame event, Jason included. two bassits?how dare they?

Too many comparisons to too many bands WAY more successful than Stratovarius.adrian9 wrote:are we still talking bandstuff here?Doro TC wrote:@Adrian, time heals NOT everything. Unfortunatelly.

If you want a better comparison, ask yourself why Lost Horizon hasn't reunited with Daniel Heiman

"Because bands X, Y, Z reunited, then Stratovarius will also have a reunion"
=
"Everyone can win the lottery because I can name 5 people who did"
Besides, you vastly overestimate the knowledge of the Stratovarius fan base about these internal issues. I imagine that 80% of the guys who go to Strato gigs don't know who has been in the band for how long, who wrote what, etc.
The hypothetical Stratovarius reunion would be met with murmurs of "whats the fat guy doing on stage? should we call security?" :rotflmao1:
Anyway, the band is headed in a fresh and exciting direction. I don't see any reason to cling to the past when things are moving along nicely.

Re: TOLKKI: Hopes Visions Lineup Can Reunite For Album and tour
hmm yeah i dont think the level of success determines the faith of the reunion, we are talking about a working relationship, i give many comparisons because this is something that happens very often in the rock scene, it doesnt matter if its Cheap Trick , Yes, Stratovarius or Mostly Autumm (if you dont know that band, check it out) or The Sex Pistols (oh boy that reunion really hit me in the nuts) or Exodus or Uriah Heep ...you get the point.Rebel wrote:Too many comparisons to too many bands WAY more successful than Stratovarius.adrian9 wrote:are we still talking bandstuff here?Doro TC wrote:@Adrian, time heals NOT everything. you guys might be right, there is no question Stratovarius has gained a lot of new fans lately, and i think is mostly because of the new direction they are taking, the "hunting high and lows" and "eaglehearts" are long missing.Rebel wrote:though we do know a lot more about the details of the stratovarius split than most fanbases do in similar matters.AAAAAAAAAA wrote:"Because bands X, Y, Z reunited, then Stratovarius will also have a reunion"

yet, strato has been around for a number of years, so i dont really think the new fanbase can outnumber the oldfanbase (yet) that by the way reminds me a good point that kickstarted many reunions and thats is to brings those fans together and make everybody happy.
pd. the lottery example is a possibility, the band reunion is a constant

That explains it.

Re: TOLKKI: Hopes Visions Lineup Can Reunite For Album and tour
I can't believe we had a band member come on here and say there is essentially no chance of a reunion (Not that he was somehow opposed, but just that he recognized the situation and knew that Tolkki could NEVER stomach it, among other factors), and we're still arguing like we know better.

"I have been in the music business for almost 30 years and everything in it has changed. What constantly makes me wonder is the critisism I receive about my ex band Stratovarius. I am not really fully aware of how extensive that is, but perhaps it is hard for (some) people realize that I will always be emotionally attached to Strato. And I think it is only natural that I care about what happens to it. After all, I spent 22 years in the band. After my departure in 2008, 5 years ago, we have been able to patch things up and shake hands. I am sincere, when I wish my old buddies all the best and luck they deserve as hard working musicians and cool guys. I am aware that what have come across in the press hasn’t always been appropriate. I have to apologize that. I can be a very moody person and some questions are quite provocative at a times. Still I take responsibility for my words and if they have offended Timo, Jens or Joerg, I sincerly apologize. And they know this. But they have a job to do. To take Strato further where they see it should go. My recent remark of 'one tour and album with Visions line up' was from my heart. It was not meant disrespectful to the current Strato. It is something that is not up to me to decide. I left and they have to continue. I only wanted to tell that if they one day feel like that, then I am up for it."

Ha! That was THE BEST! He sooo 'moody person' that he abandons his own baby when he's hungry (for money and fucking!)!
And I wonder what he will do next when he's in bad mood... Will kill me for giving a birth to his daughter? Ha!

There is some fierce butt odor coming from that blog.

Re: TOLKKI: Hopes Visions Lineup Can Reunite For Album and tour
OMFG...another statement copy/paste. I mean, that kind of statements are appearing EVERY TIME Stratovarius release a new album or we have a new year coming...Always the same, changing some words here and there.
WE DON'T GIVE A SHIT
TT should release good music as he always made and stop using the new Stratovarius efforts just to be in the spotlight at least in some lost forum pages.

There is another issue too, we have now in the band a loose sort of system called "DemoCrazy" where everyone has about the same influence. The disadvantage is that sometimes making decisions can be a bit of a process. The upside is that everyone feels responsible and reasonably happy, and (of course) there is no single personal point of failure for the band. For instance, if one guy would get writer's block there are three other guys willing to pick up the slack. (Rolf so far did not want to try to write any songs) Or if I propose the band throw all financial resources into a five city tour of Antarctica the other guys can stop me in time.
Anyway let's say adrian9 finally does get us the gig at Wembley stadion with satelite transmission hookup to the other side of the Atlantic, world wide 1000000+ attendance etc. Queen of England will be sitting there rattling her jewels. Who could say no to the Queen?! As a concession to me they also have a live link to Antarctica, where giant speakers blast the music out to a crowd of millions and millions of penguins.
I then here for the sake of brevity skate past "what do Matias, Lauri and Jörg have to say about it" onto the argument about what songs we should play live (and record!), which is probably where Timo T would have quit the band again after about five minutes.
But if we ignore that bit, I then imagine the first rehearsal where I would have to teach Timo T a bunch of Matias' guitar stuff. I mean he writes a lot of stuff that also I don't really comprehend, let alone are able to play. So then I go.. how the fuck did it go, this two minutes long unisolo with about 3000000 notes which Matias actually wrote here in the song "Abandon"??
And that's the point where I would quit after five minutes.

Re: TOLKKI: Hopes Visions Lineup Can Reunite For Album and tour
Having said all that, maybe there will be some other situation where everyone (or a few of us) feels comfortable working together in the future on something. I'm usually quite easy going, but for some of the other people i think more water still has to pass under the bridge.JensJohansson wrote: Another testament to how powerful music can be.
I just don't think it will be under the name "Stratovarius". And frankly I don't understand why that one issue would be so important. The music industry anyway is mutating rapidly before our very eyes and it's a little difficult to see where it will be even in two years.

Reunion for money? Not gonna happen. Stratovarius is far from being a gold mine, after all. Maybe I should go and pay my 2-sen yen for Nemesis pre-order.

Re: TOLKKI: Hopes Visions Lineup Can Reunite For Album and tour
Hell, why is this the StratoForum trending topic? We have the new album in less than 50 days and the EP in 19 days!
I really pay attention to Tolkki's words lately because it seems that he is a bit more focused and realistic, nevertheless 5 fucking years passed and Tolkki is still the trending topic... This is your fault Jens! Give us more information about the album, about the length of the songs, the songwriting, the artist of the artwork, something about the european tour
!
I was obviously joking
Nevertheless we should force Jens to talk because is the only one who surfs above the crazy waves of this forum

Re: TOLKKI: Hopes Visions Lineup Can Reunite For Album and tour
Once we get more info about the album, I'm sure this topic will get less and less traffic. When we don't have much to go on with new stuff, it's easy to reminisce about times gone by.
