Did s/he really? Unless my old eyes betray me (wouldn't be the first time ._.) I thought I saw her/him, the person in white sleeves not being too excited during the last 10 seconds of the video when we see her /him again.
And what would Tate gain from staging something like this?
Geoff Tate and Roger Waters have an incredible number of things in common. They both:
a) Gradually took full creative control of their bands, creating a nightmare situation for everyone involved
b) Left their respective bands and filed unsuccessful lawsuits to prevent them from carrying on
c) Wrote lyrics about lame Orwellian concepts that have been done to death
d) Wrote at least one song about their wives
e) Spat on someone during a live show (!!!)
f) Ultimately went full circle, spending the rest of their careers rehashing their greatest hits
Its funny because even Tolkki fits into the picture nicely. History has a way of repeating itself...
In short, I did like it, quite a bit. The 35-minutes duration was a surprise, but that's still about 35-20 minutes of enjoyable music more than on any album they've released since Promised Land.
