Lost Without a Trace [New Song]

Post by Shogakat »

In my opinion a very complete song: starts with a midtempo that runs slowly to a the chorus (which I like a lot). When it seems that everything is calm Kupiainen strikes with a good ( superb?) solo. The outro is kjbddbkdbk fantastic! I like a lot those dark and powerful guitars!!
I think it's a modern way to create a midtempo. Years ago the pattern looked like Eternity or Night Time Eclipse, nowadays this might be the right way..

 I live for this song! Completely different vibe from Shine in the Dark....Has single potentinal well. Wierd thing is, and just my thought, it reminds of a heavier and darker 4000 Rainy Nights. I love the solo and th vibe. I am really looking forward to this album!

Very cool stuff, like it a lot! Interesting melody, darker vibe, and of course always nice to see a good part of a song carried by the bass guitar as a change. Yep no doubt we'll get a fantastic album here :music:

Where did you hear Lost Saga? I know they played it on Spanish radio.

I am completely hooked on Lost Without a Trace today. The great bass lines, the melodies, the atmosphere. While I really liked Nemesis I feel this album will have more of the Stratovarius atmosphere, while still sounding really fresh and new.

Really cannot wait!

That is a really wonderful song.

AWESOME!

EDIT: That chorus brings me to other Stratovarius days. Anyway, sounds new. Don't know how they do it, but they do it.

Just heard the first six and half minutes of Lost Saga!
Amazing and epic song with a choir's intro, then guitar and choir and then again starts a crazy riff with good vocal lines above!
The instrumental part is not that difficult but is full of unison, fast scale and tipical Strato's shred with a "brutal metal" breakdown in the middle.
For me it's a Liimatainen/Kupiainen/Kotipelto song.
For Lost without a Trace...I don't know, I don't think is a bad song but I don't like it that much. Vocal line isn't that good and instrumental parts are too much ordinary. I like the dark vibe in it but it seems the tipical Porra b-side bonus track from Elysium(Hallowed and Last Shore)but without the prog style, so i prefer Shine in the Dark wich is more complete and catchy!
Hope in more prog stuff in the rest of the album!

P.s. I will upload the first excerpt of the song on YouTube, so it will be avaible in the next hours!

Here's the link! ;) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XtrpZoAnIDY

I think I like Shine in the Dark better

EDIT: Actually I don't know... both are awesome. They make me remember why ME of all people was not impressed by the very "meh" Pariah's Child

This is so much better.

Pariah's Child was a much needed improvement after SGHN.

But we digress.

Neither Pariah's Child nor SGHR were impressive, but Pariah's Child was definitely better.

My favorite sonata arctica album is the one where mister bean masturbates furiously throughout the guitar solos.

I, personally, love Pariah's Child. It's not an album I'd play around other people, probably - or at least, not songs like X Marks The Spot - but it's a solid album for those who know Sonata Arctica, or are okay with a little fun experimentation, or epic tunes. Larger Than Life really is one of the best, most spine-tingling songs they've ever made, you just have to be in the right mood to appreciate it. Personally I enjoy it way more than Stones (though I love that album too), and a little bit more than Days of Grays.

Sonata and Stratovarius are the two bands I've been listening to throughout my life that continue to evolve, change, adapt, whatever word you want to use, and do it with panache. Can't believe Eternal is only a month away (for me, anyway - a lonely fan from the USA). Can't. Fucking. Wait.

I stopped caring when Jani left, he was the only one pushing tony to left his emo/ego.
there is one album full of ballads I hated it, I forgot the name right now.

Unia? Unia still has plenty of speed and aggression on it. Every single Sonata album is full of ballads, though, so I don't get that complaint at all. Every one of them has at least a few sappy songs, and even some of the heavier ones have ballad-like sections (Gravenimage, WPBO...).

Probably The Days of Grays. Just my opinion but anyway, at least six songs that I find boring, this was big disappointment back then. Kinda cool cover art and interviews made my hopes high
