I was able to update my avatar no issue. And posted an image embed no issue in other discussions. Other than that, I am not advanced. Zenith is, though. He may be asleep in New Jersey.

I see Salmon did a comprehensive test. Very good results! I remember, about 5 years ago, it wasn't even possible to post a message without altering some malformed HTML with the browser developer tools (see here). Everything seems to be in working order now.

Seems like nearly the entire internet has locked itself down with anti-DDoS services like Cloudflare in order to prevent these scrapers from either bogging down the servers or simply for ideological reasons.

So, with that said, if you notice a lot of unwanted traffic here, it might be worth it to implement such a service here.

Yeah, when you look at the "active users" it's like 30-40 bots scraping simultaneously. I'm not sure how to discourage or disallow this technically. It's the same bots that enable the site to be found in searches.

Maybe that's the new future, pockets of conversation that don't want to "get found"

Unfortunately, I only have a tangential understanding of how such a service works, and how it might be able to differentiate between search indexers and general web scrapers. Perhaps it allows trusted search indexers to access the site but provides security checks to others? The other problem is that it's so easy for a bot to spoof their user agent string, which makes it appear like it's an actual user accessing the site, rather than an automated one. I know those anti-DDoS services also check for browser features in determining whether something is or isn't a bot, as well. The downside to that, though, is that real users might be considered bots if they happen to use outdated browsers.

Hmm... I imagine the best possible solution would be to have a security check for those who are not signed into the forum. Since you have it configured so that a CAPTCHA must be solved to register here, there shouldn't be any need to perform security checks on signed-in users. An example of another forum using a system similar to this is TTLG, and they still have search indexability.

On the other hand, if the bot problem isn't too bad, then it might be best to just not bother with any of the above. Personally, I haven't been served a 503 response recently, though occasionally, this site takes about 10 seconds to load and I'm not sure what the cause is.

I propose a relationship of mutual respect, no aggression over stupid arguments, no passive-aggressive comments that lead to toxic friction between people, respect for the band, and that everyone showcase their art. Since everything went wrong with the forum, I've been bombarded with insults and attacks, which I've been deleting one by one. If I see that the relationship isn't developing like a decent human being, I'd rather lose you and block you than have this whole mess happen again.

I declare myself a Stratovarius fanatic, from the Timo Tolkki era to the present. And I want to show my affection for the band through my covers and masters of their shows, which I create as a professional portfolio of my artistic studies. I recently reached an agreement with YouTube that if my covers go viral, the proceeds will go to Stratovarius or Timo Tolkki, so you can't judge me on that front either. I simply love art and I'm fully aware that I'm not the songwriter of Stratovarius's songs.

I graduated as an Infrastructure Technician - Hackers can't do anything to me, but if you like messing with other people's accounts, you're in for a big shock.

I graduated with a degree in Sound Engineering and Audiovisual Arts - This significantly improved my art, so if you have doubts about how to do it and want to "borrow" what isn't yours without acknowledging copyright (as is already happening to me on YouTube), I recommend you enroll in an art university and forge your own path.

I'm currently studying Computer Engineering, so if you're very skilled and try to create a Trojan to hack accounts, you're going to run into a brick wall, as already happened to me when they were looking for my artistic material by hacking my Google Drive, Google Drive, and Yahoo Mail accounts.

Now that I've clarified everything, I hope you understand all of this as the human beings we are.
