Remastered videos of other artists (Bootlegs/Official)

Here musicians can talk to each other about making music etc. Of course if you are not a musician you are still welcomed to this board, but the topics should somehow be about making music.

Remastered videos of other artists (Bootlegs/Official)

Post by Mr cool Edit »

This is the section for remastered videos, including both bootlegs and official videos from artists other than Stratovarius. I hope you like the idea I'm proposing.

The show "Rhapsody Of Fire - Live 2005" primarily refers to the live album and DVD titled Live in Canada 2005: The Dark Secret. This release captures a crucial moment in the trajectory of the Italian symphonic power metal band.

Below are the key points of its history:
Context and Recording

Date and Venue: It was recorded on June 14, 2005, at the Metropolis Theatre in Montreal, Canada.

Tour: The concert was part of the first leg of the "Demons, Dragons and Warriors World Tour," their first major world tour, which included stops in North America.
Significance of the Name: It is historically significant as it was the band's last official release under their original name, Rhapsody. Shortly after, in 2006, they changed their name to Rhapsody of Fire due to trademark issues.

Release Details
Publication: Released on January 23, 2006, through Magic Circle Music, the label owned by Joey DeMaio (Manowar), who also served as executive producer.

Format: Released as an audio CD and a limited edition that included a bonus DVD. The DVD did not contain the full concert video, but rather excerpts, interviews, and behind-the-scenes footage from the tour.
Classic Lineup: Featured the band's most iconic lineup: Fabio Lione (vocals), Luca Turilli (guitar), Alex Staropoli (keyboards), Patrice Guers (bass), Alex Holzwarth (drums), and additional touring guitarist Dominique Leurquin. Featured Repertoire
The show focused on promoting their then-recent album Symphony of Enchanted Lands II – The Dark Secret (2004), mixing new tracks with classics from the "Emerald Sword Saga":

Unholy Warcry
Wisdom of the Kings
Village of Dwarves
Dawn of Victory
Emerald Sword
There is also a later release called Live in Atlanta, released in 2014, which was recorded during that same 2005 tour in the United States.

PD: I know I made a mistake with the information on the cover; if I were God, I wouldn't make a mistake, okay? :x

The video documents Rhapsody's performance during their 20th Anniversary Farewell Tour at the Sweden Rock Festival on June 10, 2017. This tour was not performed by the active lineup at that time (Rhapsody of Fire), but by a special reunion of classic former members to formally bid farewell to an era of the band.

Origin and Purpose of the Tour
Reunion of Key Members: Following the departure of Fabio Lione and Alex Holzwarth from Rhapsody of Fire in 2016, they joined Luca Turilli, Patrice Guers, and Dominique Leurquin for this farewell tour.

Reason for the Anniversary: The tour celebrated the 20th anniversary of the release of their first album, Legendary Tales (1997).
Absence of Alex Staropoli: The keyboardist and founding member declined to participate in order to focus on the continuation of his current band, Rhapsody of Fire.

Details of the Concert in Sweden (2017)
At this festival, the band performed a selection of their greatest hits, focusing primarily on their most iconic era. The setlist included fundamental tracks such as:

Emerald Sword and Wisdom of the Kings (Symphony of Enchanted Lands).

Dawn of Victory and Holy Thunderforce (Dawn of Victory).

Land of Immortals (Legendary Tales).

Performance of pieces never before played live by this lineup, such as Beyond the Gates of Infinity.

The End of a Chapter

This tour represented the last opportunity to see Luca Turilli and Fabio Lione sharing the stage as Rhapsody before the project dissolved to pursue other artistic paths, such as Turilli/Lione Rhapsody. The tour officially concluded in March 2018 in Madrid.

Fabio Lione's concert at Santo Rock Bar in Santo André, Brazil, held on March 1, 2026, was a key date in his South American tour that year. This show was part of a series of intimate and exclusive performances where the Italian vocalist revisited the highlights of his career, especially his time with Rhapsody.

Show Details
Venue: Santo Rock Bar, Santo André, Brazil.

Date and Time: Sunday, March 1, 2026. The show began at approximately 9:40 PM.
Tour Context: This performance took place just after his show at Manifesto Bar in São Paulo (February 27) and before his tour of Chile and Argentina.
Musical Approach: Unlike his tours with a symphony orchestra, this was a direct rock band format, focused on recreating symphonic power metal anthems and classic tracks from albums like Dawn of Victory.

History and Significance
The event was described as a "historic night" for local fans, highlighting Lione's emotional connection and powerful vocals in a more intimate setting than large stadiums. Coverage of the event emphasized that the setlist included not only Rhapsody classics but also nods to his other projects such as Angra and Vision Divine.

The existence of a bootleg (unofficial recording) of this concert is common in the metal collector community, given that it was one of the few club-style venue dates before Lione continued with his "Epic Tales Tour" and orchestral performances later in the year.

Pink Floyd's show in Essen 1969 took place on October 11, 1969, as part of the Internationales Essener Pop & Blues Festival. It was held at the Grugahalle in Essen, Germany, and was one of the first major rock festivals in the country.

Historical Context
The festival lasted three days (from October 9 to 11) and brought together legendary acts such as Fleetwood Mac, Deep Purple, Yes, Muddy Waters, and Tangerine Dream. It was organized by Konrad Mallison, who was inspired by the Bath Festival in England to bring a similar experience to Germany.

At that time, Pink Floyd was in a transitional and experimental phase following Syd Barrett's departure the previous year. David Gilmour was now fully integrated, and the band was about to release their double album Ummagumma (November 1969).
Repertoire (Setlist)
The performance was notable for its psychedelic and experimental approach.

According to Setlist.fm records, the setlist was:

Astronomy Domine
Green Is the Colour
Careful With That Axe, Eugene
Interstellar Overdrive
A Saucerful of Secrets

Show Details

Filming: Partial footage of this performance has circulated among collectors and on platforms like YouTube, where performances of songs such as "Careful With That Axe, Eugene" and "A Saucerful of Secrets" can be seen.

Atmosphere: The organizer described the atmosphere at the Grugahalle as "extremely loving and peaceful," influenced by the Flower Power aesthetic and the recent impact of the Woodstock festival.
Sound: By this time, the band was already investing a large portion of its earnings in upgrading its sound equipment, prioritizing audio fidelity even over continuous light shows.

This video is a treasure for Pink Floyd collectors because it captures a crucial moment in the band's evolution: the final transition to the sound that would define their masterpiece, The Dark Side of the Moon.

Recording Context
Date and Venue: The concert took place on December 10, 1972, at the Palais des Sports in Lyon, France.
Origin of the Material: This is an amateur 8mm film, originally recorded by a fan in the audience. For decades, these tapes were considered "lost" or only circulated in very closed circles of bootleg collectors.

The Tour: At that time, the band was in the final leg of their 1972 tour. They had already been playing early versions of The Dark Side of the Moon (under the working title Eclipse) for almost a year.

Why this video is important
Visual rarity: Pink Floyd is famous for having very little live video footage from the 1970s compared to other bands of the era. This footage offers a rare glimpse into their stage presence before they became a global stadium phenomenon.
Synchronization: Many of the versions you find on YouTube have been restored and digitally synced with higher-quality audio recordings (audiences or soundboards) by dedicated fans, as the 8mm cameras of the time didn't usually record high-fidelity synchronized sound.
Historic setlist: In Lyon in 1972, the group performed songs such as "Careful with That Axe, Eugene," "Echoes," and, of course, the complete suite that would become their most famous album a few months later (released in March 1973). Recent Restoration
This footage often appears under names such as "Lyon Reel [Sigma 229]", referring to collector's edition releases that have attempted to clean up the film grain and correct the color so that today's fans can appreciate the lighting effects and energy of Roger Waters, David Gilmour, Richard Wright, and Nick Mason at their creative peak.

Pink Floyd's concert at the Palais des Sports in Lyon on December 10, 1972, is historically significant as it was the last date of their tour that year. The setlist was divided into two parts: the first was a complete performance of what would later become the album The Dark Side of the Moon (at that time titled A Piece for Assorted Lunatics), and the second consisted of classics from their previous repertoire.

Part One: The Dark Side of the Moon
At this stage, the songs still had working titles and arrangements that evolved into the final version of the 1973 album.
Wikipedia
Wikipedia
Speak to Me (intro from tape)
Breathe (In the Air)
On the Run (then titled "The Travel Sequence")
Time
Breathe (Reprise)
The Great Gig in the Sky (titled "The Mortality Sequence"; this version did not feature Clare Torry's female vocals, but was an instrumental organ piece using audio tapes)
Money
Us and Them
Any Colour You Like (titled "Scat")
Brain Damage

Part Two: Classics and Encores
After an intermission, the band returned to play longer, more psychedelic tracks.

One of These Days
Careful With That Axe, Eugene
Echoes
Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun (commonly played as an encore on this tour)

This concert marked the end of a year of experimentation where the Dark Side suite was "polished" night after night in front of an audience before entering the final recording sessions at Abbey Road.

This video, often titled Pink Floyd: London '66–'67, is an essential historical document that captures the band at its most experimental under the leadership of Syd Barrett. It is not a conventional music video, but part of a larger documentary project by filmmaker Peter Whitehead.
Origin and Musical Content
The material was originally filmed for Whitehead's film Tonite Let's All Make Love in London (1967).

Studio recordings: Captures the band at Sound Techniques studios in London on January 11 and 12, 1967.
Main Tracks: Includes extended and rare versions of "Interstellar Overdrive" (almost 17 minutes) and a previously unreleased piece called "Nick's Boogie".
Style: It is considered one of the first examples of jazz fusion and pure psychedelia, with improvisations that broke the traditional pop structures of the time.

The Swinging London Stage
The video works as a time capsule of the London underground movement.

Iconic Venues: Shows footage of the band playing at the legendary UFO Club, the epicenter of psychedelia in London.
Mass events: Includes fragments of the "14 Hour Technicolour Dream", a massive festival held at Alexandra Palace in April 1967.
Famous cameos: Among the crowd you can see figures such as John Lennon (before meeting Yoko Ono) and Yoko Ono performing one of her artistic performances.

Dedication to Syd Barrett
Although the footage is from 1966-1967, the edit often found online as a tribute "dedicated to Syd Barrett" is due to her later tragic story.

The "Crazy Diamond": Barrett was the creative genius who founded the band and defined its initial sound.
Mental Deterioration: The video captures a still lucid and vibrant Syd, shortly before his mental health severely deteriorated due to excessive LSD use and external pressures, leading to his departure from the group in 1968.
Legacy: For fans, seeing these images is seeing the origin of the Pink Floyd mythology and the original spark that inspired later songs like "Shine On You Crazy Diamond." :)

PD: This is the last void that I have done so far, after this the situation changes, only the videos that I will have made in real time will be shown, so the exhibition in the forum will take a few days

This is just a "Summary" of the most "valuable" parts of the original DVD, because it's a DVD that was only dedicated to promoting Pink Floyd's ST-Books; what interests you most is the collectible material, not so much the marketing of their albums by their record label. :err:
