The topic is the social value of music. If a song produces a positive societal value for a group, it means it was a well written song for that group.

I quite enjoy the song (as well as the samples of the other songs from these albums.) Honestly, it would be quite boring for Tobias to just plop out Metal Opera Part 3 because it wouldn't live up to the others at all. And, of course, if your only expectation of Avantasia is for them to just do "Metal Opera" style music, why are you even a fan of them?

This is the most retarted thing that I've heard here in a long time. We're fans of them because of their metal operas. We think thise albums are awesome and we want them to do more music like this. Like Sammet did with Edguy he changed the musical direction for Avantasia. Not as much as in Edguy, but quite a bit. Some of us don't like that. Some of us want them to just make Power Metal again. Some of us don't worship the new stuff just because it has Tobias Sammet's name on it.

Pretty much what I expected...

After watching that video I got so frustrated I didn't even bother to register at Tobias' site to listen to the whole album. In fact, I don't even feel like downloading the album, as I'm not sure it'll be worth the effort.

Then there are us that think it's not automatically great if it's power metal, and actually musicians might even get better results doing something else if they are bored with power metal. And it's great to have many styles of music from one artist.

At the moment, though, it seems this Avantasia is going to be full of power metal hymns! If I were you, I'd go to Sammet's backstage and have a go at the samples. My God. @_@ And those are nothing compared to the praise (in Finnish) Imperiumi gave them. ^^ Actually ordered the album already. :9~

Yea I think the song is actually pretty good and I also like it more than Lost In Space. I can understand why some people don't like it, though. It has nothing to do with the first two albums, but it was pretty clear since The Scarecrow that there were not going to be any more Metal Operas.
