I hope that is true. It would be good for China to have Strato play there. China has been repressed in terms of music&the arts, so this would be great!
I am sure Chinese have heard Stratovarius on Radio&probably bootlegs. :)

It still is. In fact it is repressed in terms of pretty much everything... And still they got the 2008 Olympics :/

Are you refering to the gig in Hong Kong or the one in Taiwan, or both? I wouldn't consider either to be China proper (Hong Kong having a high degree of autonomy and the status of Taiwan being, well, disputed, to say the least.)
It's not unheard of that western bands perform in mainland China - Roxette comes to mind as an example.

Oh yeah, also: free Tibet!

:red: I did not even read the tour page--I just assumed the topic meant mainland China! :)
But, yeah, Taiwan&Hong Kong are modernized countries--very USA commerialized, so I'd think THEY know who Stratovarius is! Probably longer than USA, to tell the truth!
That would be the first for the band, too, I think--tours to these 2 countries?

Who knows, maybe they can get between the borders of China. That would be awesome.
