Oddly enough, Bill n' Hill happen to be in the audience for this one.

Hmmm, looks like U.S. Senator John McCain (R-AZ) and former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani are the two main GOP candidates.NeonVomit wrote:So who is looking like the main Republican candidate?
Out of Scaryman Hothead, Lady Macbeth and Reindeer, I'd take the third. However, Rudy wouldn't get elected, doesn't he have something of a questionable personal past? Not like that is of any consequence, but a lot of voters for some reason see it as important...miditek wrote:Hmmm, looks like U.S. Senator John McCain (R-AZ) and former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani are the two main GOP candidates.NeonVomit wrote:So who is looking like the main Republican candidate?
There is also a grass-roots effort to get former U.S. Senator Fred Thompson (R-TN), and current star of the TV drama "Law & Order" to make a run as well.
Lady McBeth & Reindeer? Strange nicknames, never heard those two before. Anyway, Giuliani, like nearly everyone else that I know has had some family problems such as divorce and infidelity. Definitely cause for concern for an American candidate, although I suspect that in other countries it might be less of an issue.NeonVomit wrote:Out of Scaryman Hothead, Lady Macbeth and Reindeer, I'd take the third. NeonVomit wrote:I'd probably support Guiliani because he has a strong track record of actual achievements and leadership.
NeonVomit wrote:As in, he's good at his job and has proven it. I don't care two hoots of what he's done in his personal life, that's his business and no one else's.
NeonVomit wrote:Shame inconsequential matters such as those actually make an impact on voters.
NeonVomit wrote:Eg France - both Sarkozy and Royal have patchy marital records, and it was a complete non-issue in the election.
I could probably visualize Hilary as Lady McBeth, but I could more easily see her as an intelligent- although bitter, woman, who was humiliated by her husband's years of philandering (that she incredibly claims to have had no prior knowledge of), and that she has a political ax to grind now.NeonVomit wrote:(as for the nicknames, Reindeer is obvious, and please don't tell me you can't visualise Hilary as Lady Macbeth...)
And the celebrations are apparently, well under way!Carcass wrote:Sarkozy won, as expected. I didn't like either of them very much.
The native born qualification for the presidency would not preclude Jens from running for, let's say, mayor of New York City, or even governor of the State of New York, although I'm quite sure that neither job would be nearly as fun as playing keys in Stratovarius.browneyedgirl wrote:Yes, StratoTimo, yes! :headbang:
We'd all be rockin' in the free world! :music:
Jens could do a good job, IMO, but I think you have to be a natural-born citizen to be Prez in USA. That issue pops up evey once in a while, because there are many foreign-born naturalized citizens who'd do a good job. Like Arnold&Orlando.
Well, Arnold, anyway!
Orlando.
Hilary is on the move&keeping busy!
Getting ready.
