Ralf is probably one of the most underrated vocalists in Metal. He sounds so much like Halford it's scary. I can remember first hearing "Metal Is Forever" and thinking to myself "Wait, when did Priest bring out a new song?"

I think in general every PF album until Seven Seals sounded very much like Priest.

Vocals: Timo Kotipelto :D
Guitars: Roland Grapow
Keyboards/ piano: Jon Oliva
Bass: Magnus Rosen
Drums: Patrik Räfling (ex- Hammerfall drummer, I saw him live in '99 & he was an amazing drummer, never understood why he left the band or was fired)

Well this was not what I heard in that time, anyway he is a brilliant drummer, I had the chance to see Hammerfall live in 1999 with Patrik & that was an amazing show, in 2003 their show was not more the same, Hammerfall guys changed a lot, & after Magnus leave this band died for me!

Yes, I know, I have all Kotipelto original cds :)
Wonderful guitar player, I don't like when he leaves Helloween, this is another band that had changed so much the line up that lost the "keys" you know!

I have to agree that I think both Hammerfall and Helloween have solid line ups.

but it's also just fine if you don't like them.

Indeed. If you were really into both bands old stuff this is understandable since both bands changed (HammerFall not that much but Helloween a lot) since their first albums.

A Melodic Metal Dream Line-Up

Vocals:Jorn Lande(Masterplan,Jorn,Avantasia, Allen/Lande Ark, Beyond Twilight, Vagabond, The Snakes, Millenium, Brazen Abbot...) (self explanatory :))
Guitars:Magnuss Karlsson (Primal Fear, Allen/Lande, Starbreaker, Midnight Sun, Last Tribe, The Codey, Bob Catley, Greenhouse, Planet Alliance) (Well, I got some of his stuff and I actually think he is a very talanted guy. I would love to see him write a album for Jorn only)
Guitars:Ralph Santolla (Millenium, solo, Decide, Death, Iced Earth, Obituary) (I know this is weird since I tend to dislike Death Metal normaly but he really did a great job on those Millenium Albims which are top-notch Melodic/Power Metal. And I absolutly love the Millenium album with Jorn!)
Bass: Jari Kainulainen (Evergrey, Stratovarius, Project Strato, Kotipelto (I think he would fit in just great)
Keyboards: Uli Müller (At Vance) (For this I would like to have someone who doesn't really has that "lead keyboard" kind of playing style but more of a atmospheric style of playing and he fits perfectly)
Drums: Randy Black (Primal Fear, Rebellion, Annihilator) (I really like this guy. A great drummer. Very underrated)

You guys take the posts here so seriously
I was kidding, but I prefer Roland; btw Keeper of the 7 keys the legacy is really a good album! :)
Deris can not have a perfect voice but he is a very nice singer & is very charismatic too 8)

I never wrote that I don't like them, I was a big fan of Hammerfall, but is a band that don't touch me anymore, I prefer Stratovarius!
About Helloween I'm still their fan, but I prefer "the old (not so old ) line up" with Grapow & Uli!
Anyway sometimes I think they're to posers for my taste

Well, let's see if I can come up with another one:

Another Melodic Metal one that would be great
Vocals: Johnny Gioeli (Axel Rudi Pell, Hardline) (Very good singer. Nice voice)
Guitars: Roland Grapow (Masterplan, Solo, Ex-Helloween, Ex-Rampage)
Guitars: Magnus Karlsson (Primal Fear, Starbreaker, Allen/Lande, The Codex, Ex-Midnight Sun, Ex-Last Tribe)
Bass: Sid Ringsby (Jorn, Ex-Road, Ex-TNT)
Drums: Wild Willy (Jorn, Wild Willy's Gang)
Keyboards: Jens Johansson (Stratovarius, Ex-Yngwie Malmsteen, Ex-Silver Mountain, Ex-Dio)

And one that I would love to see, that once toured (at least the singer and guitarist) and that sadly never recorded a album because the guitarist is a complete dick)

Vocals: Jorn Lande (Jorn, Masterplan, Allen/Lande, Avantasia, Ex-Ark, Ex Millenium, Ex-The Snakes, Ex-Vagabond, Ex-Ark, Ex-Mundanus Imperium, Ex-Beyond Twilight, Ex-Brazon Abbot, Ex-Ken Hensley)
Guitars: Yngwie Malmsteen (Solo, Ex-Steeler (US), Ex-Alcatrazz)
Bass: Barry Sparks (Dokken, Ex-Yngwie Malmsteen)
Drums: Mike Terrana (Half Europe)
Keyboards: Jens Johansson (Stratovarius, Ex-Yngwie Malmsteen, Ex-Silver Mountain, Ex-Dio)

I like this one! Except I was never really a Manowar fan, so I would replace Ross the Boss with Alfred Koffler from Pink Cream 69, for example.

:D

I just saw Metallica last Saturday, they were absolutely awesome. Seen them twice before but this has been definitely my favorite. Kirk owned! I'm still a huge fan of these guys, and they have always delivered live. Plus, they played my 2 favorite songs: Disposable Heroes and No Remorse!

Well, Load and ReLoad are actually good albums for what they are, but they just suck as Metallica albums.

The perfect Jorn Line Up:
Vocals: Jorn Lande (Jorn, Masterplan, Allen/Lande, Avantasia, Ex-Ark, Ex Millenium, Ex-The Snakes, Ex-Vagabond, Ex-Ark, Ex-Mundanus Imperium, Ex-Beyond Twilight, Ex-Brazon Abbot, Ex-Ken Hensley)
Guitar: Doug Aldrich (Whitesnake, Ex-Dio, Ex-Dead Moon Rising)
Guitar: Jorn Viggo Lofstad (Pagan's Mind, Ex-Jorn)
Bass: Sid Ringsby (Jorn, Ex-TNT, Ex-The Snakes)
Drums: Eric Singer (Ex-Avantasia, Ex-Kiss, Ex-Alice Cooper)

I think metallica like many other bands experiments with certain things to see what works, sometimes they end being kick ass and sometimes they lack something, I know people keep knocking on the production however I think Death magnetic is an awesome album.

I'm going to try a mixing of rock genre's here

Vocals:Andre Matos(angra,Shaman,solo,Avantasia)
Guitars:David Gilmour(Pink Floyd,Solo)
Guitars:Matias Kupainen(fist in fetus,solo,Stratovarius)
Bass:Bob Daisley(Rainbow,Ozzy Osbourne,Black Sabbath,Yngwie Malmsteen,Planet alliance,Dio)
Keyboards:Dennis Deyoung(Styx,solo)
Drums:Neil peart(Rush)
